Since I still seem to read more books sent to me by authors and publishers than those I have bought or received from family, I am continuing my mini-book challenges. They help me continue enjoying reading, and I love the little prizes Jen got me this year.

This post is where I will keep track of them.

Karen’s 2026 Personal Reading Challenges

2026 Middle Grade Reading Challenge

My goal this year will be to read 12 MG books.

Read one Middle Grade book each month if possible, but if not, twelve by the end of the year. It can be combined with other challenges. It can be any format, short story, or whatever. Yet, it must be fictional.

2. A Dog Named 647 by Nancy Kay

2026 Romance Book Reading Challenge

My goal this year will be to read 12 romances.

Read one romance book each month, if possible, but if not, twelve by the end of the year. It can be combined with other challenges, in any format, length, or trope. Oh, and I already have so many of these on my shelves. I love a good sweet romance.

1. Her Time Traveling Duke by Bryn Donovan
2. Immortal by Sue Lynn Tan
3. Cross Your Heart and Hope He Dies by Jenny Elder Moke
4. Eleven Houses by Colleen Oakes

 

2026 Young Adult Book Reading Challenge

My goal this year will be to read 12 YA books.

Read one YA book each month. It can be combined with other challenges, in any format and of any length.

1. Immortal by Sue Lynn Tan
2. Eleven Houses by Colleen Oakes

 

2026 TBR Jar Reading Challenge

My goal this year will be to read 12 books from my TBR shelf.

Read one physical book from my shelves. I have added all the unread book titles to my TBR jar and will draw one per month to read. It can be combined with other challenges.
