The stunning sequel to "Heir to the Ice Flame".
"The Winter Spirit told me that I had been blessed with powers I needed to master, but she also warned that those, like me, blessed by the Gods, were instruments of change - whether for good or bad. I don't know which side of the coin I will be on, but I know that the fight for my kingdom is coming, and I must do whatever I can to be ready."
Princess Nina Fiordlasher might have stopped running from her past, but she is still heartbroken, danger lurks closer than she realises, and her resistance forces are not yet strong enough to help her reclaim the throne.
Should she accept the offer of help from the fearsome Dark Elves who dwell in the Underdark? Can she ever hope to control such allies of night and shadow and in a realm of betrayal and lies, will love and trust melt a heart of ice?
Heart of Ice by Rose Harvey has Nina claiming her future in ways that she never thought possible.
Will Nina get the help that is needed to reclaim her throne?
Nina
Princess Nina Fiordlasher needs help from the Dark Elves while trying to forget about Markus and train her hardest to be ready for the fight for her throne. She has so many things going through her mind while trying to enjoy the time she has with her grandfather. The main thing I like about Nina in this story is that she is realizing she has the strength to hold her own in battle. Another thing that Nina does well is work under pressure; she can pivot when the circumstances require it. Nina is an excellent character who continues to grow throughout the books. I can’t wait to see how she embraces things in the next book.
The Story
Nina has been training nonstop since she got to her grandfather’s court to fight for her throne with the rest of the Resistance. Only to find out that because of her Elf mom, she has some powers of her own as well. I love seeing her train not only to fight like a regular person but also to use her magic. Being a princess leaves no dull moments, though, as Nina is starting to find out. I do feel bad for Nina in this story, and I hope the next one is a bit happier for her.
Four Stars
My rating for Heart of Ice by Rose Harvey is three stars. I love Ms. Harvey’s writing style because it makes me feel like I am right there with Nina and the other characters. Observing things with Nina and going through whatever she is doing. I have a feeling things won’t be easy for any of the characters in the next book.

Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed this review of Heart of Ice by Rose Harvey.
