It's the moment that Harmony Island has been waiting for: the reading of Charlotte Cane's will.

After I returned to my small hometown six months ago to attend my estranged grandmother's funeral, I swore I would never go back. That is, until my grandmother's lawyer calls me up. If I don't return to Harmony Island and fulfill my grandmother's stipulations, the generationally owned family inn will be turned over to the state and sold off to the highest bidder--my grandmother's rival and mother to the man who broke my heart, Missy Willis.

I'm not sure I'm strong enough to return home, but I also know, I can't let Miss Willis win. So I pack up my belongings and head for North Carolina.

I'm determined to stay distant, living in the small cottage next to the inn, and keep my head down. But in a small town where everyone knows your name, that becomes difficult. Soon, my past catches up with me and I'm faced with the history I've buried for so long. Just when I reach my breaking point, Miles, the single dad living at the inn, swoops in to my life to rescue me. He was my protector in my childhood, my enemy in my teenage years, and now?

Now, I'm not so sure. Especially when his love for his daughter is contagious, or the way he looks at me when he doesn't know I see him. I'm so confused and I want to run away like I did in the past, but I can't. And when Miles touches me like that...I don't want to.

Luckily, I find a friend in Abigail, the local bookstore owner. She's one of the only residents who doesn't know about my past and seems to be looking for the same thing I am, a place to belong.

The Inn on Harmony Island is chock full of romance, redemption, and forgiveness. If you're looking for your next summer read, grab your copy today! It is the first book in the Sweet Tea and a Southern Gentleman series and ends on a cliff hanger.

The Inn on Harmony Island by Anne-Marie Meyer is a wonderful start to a new series for a first-time reader of this author.

Is Shelby strong enough to deal with her grandma’s estate?

Shelby

Shelby is one of the three main characters in this novel. She is the granddaughter of Charlotte Cane and the main reason Shelby is back in her hometown, even though she would rather not be. Shelby thinks the town dislikes her, but I think it’s more that they see her as a good topic of gossip. Plus, it’s not like she can leave or do anything until her grandma’s stipulations are met. I like Shelby, and I hope she does get better once she’s back on Harmony Island.

MilesThe Inn on Harmony Island CR

Miles is the second of the three main characters in this novel. He’s a girl dad, basically running the Inn of Harmony Island for who knows how many years before Charlotte Cane passed away. Belle is his sweet little toddler who basically has him wrapped around her little fingers. I love seeing his point of view and how distraught he is over everything that has happened while trying to help ease Shelby back into life at the Inn.

Abigail

Abigail is the last of the three main characters. She runs the local bookstore/cafe in town that was her grandma’s. When she can’t be found working, she’s at her apartment with her sister, helping with her baby nephew. Abigail has a lot going on, and she needs to take breaks. Let those breaks be either at her store or getting to know Shelby; that is up to her. I do love Abigail, and I feel so bad for everything that she has to deal with once she gets home from working at her store.

Five Stars

My rating for The Inn on Harmony Island by Anne-Marie Meyer is five stars. I fell in love with these three wonderful characters, and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Meyer does next on this island. Ms. Meyer is a great author; I felt like I was right there on an island in North Carolina with these characters, watching their lives unfold.

Anne-Marie Meyer

Anne-Marie Meyer is a USA Today best selling author of over 65 romances. Her only mission is to create happily-ever-after stories that all age groups can enjoy through just-kisses, feel-good romances. She lives in Northwest Arkansas with her husband, four rambunctious boys, and a little girl who has MED13L syndrome and autism.
