As the maid of honor for a Christmas Eve wedding, Evelyn Marshall plans to give the bride and groom something special - a hope chest that they'll want to pass on down through the generations. The only problem is that the bride didn't give her much time to plan for such a gift. When Evelyn's rush order gets cancelled, a friend suggests the help of the new high school industrial arts teacher.
Felix Spencer came to Christmas Town to start over after the end of his marriage. He has no desire to let anyone get close again. Evelyn's request is easy to turn down until one of his wayward students shows some interest in helping out. Can a troubled teen and a hope chest bring these two opposites together? In Christmas Town, anything is possible!

Can Mason and Felix get the hope chest done in time?

The Hope Chest by Amy Vastine is an excellent book. Ms. Vastine is a great author, and this book shows her fantastic storytelling skills. This last bridesmaid book is with Evelyn Marshall and Felix Spencer. Evelyn is a personal shopper and buyer at the department store in Christmas Town and of course the maid of honor in Lisa and John’s wedding. Felix Spencer is the new industrial arts teacher at Christmas Town High and is was previously divorced.

Evelyn Marshall

The main female character is Evelyn Marshall, the identical twin of Jacqueline although she is extremely different from her twin sister. Evelyn is the personal shopper and buyer at one of the stores in town.  Jax, Evelyn and their mom complete this small but close family. Evelyn is the girly-girl of the twins and is the one that everyone believes won’t get her hands dirty. I like this feminine side of Evelyn. She likes to look good and take care f herself. I love that she watches baking shows and knows how to bake. The one thing that I dislike about her is that she doesn’t think of herself as someone who can be friends with the guys, like hang out and talk or anything like that. Evelyn feels like this because that is how her father treated her.

Felix Spencer

The main male character is Felix Spencer, and he is the industrial arts teacher at the local high school. He is a pretty nice guy in my opinion, and I loved how he helped both Jaycee and Evelyn. Felix though only agreed to make the hope chest because he is trying to help out a sixteen-year-old boy in his class. I like that Felix is excellent with kids and loves wholeheartedly. He is pretty funny and knows what he wants to do in Christmas Town. The first thing I dislike about him is that Felix stereotyped Evelyn right after meeting her. He needs to let go of what happened in his past relationship. The second and last thing that I dislike about him is that he dismisses Evelyn, believing that she isn’t anyone that he would genuinely like.

The Hope Chest CRFive Star

I am giving The Hope Chest by Amy Vastine a five-star rating because it was a fabulous book. Ms. Vastine is a brilliant author and has wonderful characters. Evelyn and Felix were brought to life well so superbly. This book was a delightful read, and I love it. If you are looking for a Christmas read, check out this series.
