After spending the last year trying to get his song-writing career off the ground, Wally MacIver is back in Christmas Town for good. His dreams and ambition didn't bring him anything other than betrayal and pain, mainly at the hand of his boss, record executive Grayling Stanhope. So much for thinking their "connection" was anything other than business. But the last thing Wally expects is to run into Grayling again...in Christmas Town!
Grayling fell in love with Wally's songs long before she ever met him. Their attraction and connection was immediate, but divided loyalties and her own insecurities cost her the only man she's ever truly loved. She knows he might never trust her again, but there are some secrets she just can't keep. Somehow, some way, they've got to find a way to move beyond the past: especially now that they're going to have a baby!

Will Grayling and Wally put their differences aside for their child?

His Christmas Carousel Baby by Anna J. Stewart might be my favorite one so far in this 12 book series. Her characters feel like they are alive and can walk out of the book. The way that it fits in perfectly with the others that I have read so far is impressive.

Wally McIver

Wally McIver is the main male character and has had his heartbroken along with his trust broken by Grayling Stanhope. He writes music and can sing, but he loves to work with his hands on carpentry. Wally’s help with the carousel is revolving around getting the animals and sleigh ready for the painters to work on them. He gets the old paint off and fixes them if they need it before they can go off to get painted. It’s cool, and everyone in town has come by to watch him bring them back to life. Wally is a great guy that’s worried about Grayling and what she is willing to do to make her father happy. That’s what I like about him that I want to share. However, I dislike that he made a decision irrationally that almost cost him everything that he cares about in life.

Grayling Stanhope

Grayling Stanhope is the only daughter of her parents and the heir to her father’s company. She has lived most of her life trying to please and make her father see her. This choice unintentionally made it so that she would risk her health, a personal life, and maybe even the way she sees herself so that she could run his hotels and a record company. It took a lot for Grayling to go to Maine to see Wally. Grayling to me has one of the most significant changes in any book I have read. She is a great person and deserves a lot more in life.

I like that she tried to get Wally to forgive her and move past what she did. While I dislike is that she tried to get her dad’s approval but at the cost of herself instead of trying to talk to him.

About Anna J. Stewart

Anna Stewart

What happens when geek girls grow up?  This one became a writer.

You’ve met me (or someone like me) before. I was the girl who spun in circles on the playground hoping my Wonder Woman costume would magically appear before playing cops and robbers a la Charlie’s Angels–Sabrina was my favorite. I was the girl in the back of the class with a paperback romance hidden in her algebra book (and yes, I failed algebra). I was the girl making up stories about the Starship Enterprise and trying to figure out how I could join the Hardy Boys on their latest adventure.

I can’t remember not having a book in my hand or a story in my head. Growing up in the 70′s and 80′s meant there weren’t a lot of YA books, so I ventured early into mainstream fiction and read Stephen King’s CARRIE at the age of 8. Discovering Nora Roberts and romance novels early in high school opened my eyes to the wonders of storytelling and the beauty of a happily ever after.

There’s something incredible about creating something out of nothing, of having a glimmer of an idea transform itself into a story somewhere between thought and fingers.Creating rich characters with life altering conflicts, setting them on their journeys of self-discovery to their happily ever afters is what I live to do. It’s what I love doing. Those who say writing is hard work aren’t lying–at times the process is excruciating. But there is nothing like the rush that comes from bringing a story to life with the stroke of the pen or the click of the keys.

So here I am, many years later, an English Degree on my wall, a Golden Heart nomination behind me, countless stories in my head, and coping with a serious addiction to STAR TREK, SUPERNATURAL, and SHERLOCK. A hybrid author writing sweet and mainstream romance, romantic suspense and paranormal romance. Life doesn’t get any better than that.
