Worse, when the town Scrooge is murdered, fingers quickly point to Axel’s mom.
Now it’s up to Axel and Pepper to find the real murderer before his mom winds up paying the price for a crime she didn’t commit. Can Pepper and Axel save the day or will the magical season of Christmas turn into the deadliest ever known to Magnolia Cove?
Christmas in Magnolia Cove
Southern Magic Christmas by Amy Boyles is a funny, crazy Christmas tale about what can go wrong when you meet your boyfriend’s parents.
Some people just aren’t nice even at Christmas.
Pepper, Betty, Amelia, and Cordelia are decorating the Magic Wish Snowman in Magnolia Cove when Axel’s parents show up, bringing chaos and scaring a snobbish local woman. It is actually kind of funny until she winds up dead with Axel’s mom standing over her body holding the knife. Seriously, people why are you picking up a knife when someone is lying there bleeding anyway? Kick it away, but don’t pick it up! Haven’t you watched enough CSI to figure that one out?
Anyway, things go downhill from here. Let just say I loved it! Pepper is always up to something.
Look for these things to make you smile:
- Couples Massage with Axel’s mom
- Christmas gift or not?
- Betty isn’t her usual self.
- The great++++ grandfather’s crotchety ole heart is in the fire.
- A little beagle that doesn’t want to stay at home.
- Giant snowman that grants wishes.
- Peppermint candy decorations.
- Subzero temperatures in Magnolia Cove.
- Seeing things differently is sometimes better than the conventional way.
- Licky and Mint watch the pet store.
5 Stars for Southern Magic Christmas by Amy Boyles
My rating for Southern Magic Christmas by Amy Boyles is five stars. What an absolutely wonderful Christmas. The Craple family is utterly insane in a sweet, lovable way. The story is perfect and the ending well…it leaves me ready to read the next installment, Southern Potions which is available for pre-order with an expected release date of January 18th.
