Plot Summary:
Small-town wedding photographer Allie finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery when the groom is shot dead during the first dance. Suspicion turns to Allie’s brother Greg, the ex-boyfriend of the bride, so she launches her own investigation to clear his name. As Allie pours over photographs for possible suspects, she tries to help Sam, the newest Detective on the force, as they hunt for the killer and the missing murder weapon.
My Rating:
My Thoughts:
I confess that I was holding this movie to high standards since I like both Carlos and Alexa PenaVega but I am sad as it didn’t meet my expectations. This is because I figured out who did it early on but not the reason until it came clear when the sleuth and detective both figured it with their own investigations. Also, I felt like it dragged a lot in the middle.
Alexa PenaVega’s character is Allie Adams who is a photographer for all occasions. She is trying to solve the mystery to save her brother and to help out her friend who lost her husband. Allie is a good character as she has depth and Alexa played her well. Her chemistry with Carlos, her husband is great as expected.
Carlos PenaVega’s character is Detective Sam Acosta who is a new detective from New York to this small town. He is, of course, solving the murder since it’s his job and he is trying to fit in. Sam is a chess player, musician, and trying to fix the house that he bought in the small town. Sam is a well put together character and Carlos played him well. Again, his chemistry with Alexa, his wife is awesome.
I just guess that it could have ended a lot earlier than it did. Some of the scenes made the movie drag and were boring which made it sucky. Perhaps the writers need to punch it up a bit. I just had high hopes for this movie to be different but the storyline lacked that luster.
