Falling in love wasn't part of the plan...

Successful restauranteur Lane Griffiths has been a friend of the Katsalos family for years, so between projects he's happy to help with the renovations of their wedding hall, The Aegean Palace. At least until he finds himself stuck working with his best friend's little sister, Yasmin.

Yasmin has reinvented herself. After a brush with death in the wilds of Borneo, she's made a list of all the things she wouldn't have had the courage to do before. The new purple streak in her hair and the diamond stud in her nose is just the beginning. Next up: seduce a tall, dark, handsome man. Lane fits the bill, oh so perfectly.

Yasmin is so different from the girl Lane used to know. Her ideas may be impractical and a little bit crazy, but he's irresistibly drawn to her free-spirited nature, never dreaming he's just a number on her Love List.

Making the Love List by Barbara DeLeo is about two people finding an unlikely love match and trying to figure it out.

Will Yasmin give in to her feelings for Lane or run for it?

Yasmin Katsalos

Yasmin Katsalos is one of the two main characters, and she has gone through a lot in her short twenty-four years of life. She is trying to have a nice, fun, and positive new outlook on life instead of doing what others want her to do. She is a Greek woman through and through especially when it comes to how her feelings come into play. Yasmin is intelligent and thinks things through logically then the next minute; she wants to live a life without any attachments to one place.

I like Yasmin and her logical side, but I have a hard time with how she thinks that if she is tied down somewhere that she isn’t free to be who she wants to be when in a lot of cases, even if someone is tied down they can still express themselves in whatever way they want to. Yasmin is a good character. I enjoyed her character growth throughout the book.

Lane GriffithsMaking the Love List CR

Lane Griffiths is all about following a plan while not wanting to be like his parents. He wants to be able to find a woman that he loves and be able to give his children something that he never had. I admire Lane for everything that he has done to overcome what his parents did to him while also growing with Yasmin. Lane is a good guy who knows what he wants, even if that means changing his plans to fit with another person’s goals. There is a lot to like Lane, and I do think that he takes everything in stride. I think if I were to meet Lane out on the streets that we might be friends. Will Lane be able to convince Yasmin to stay put?

About Barbara DeLeo

Barbara DeLeo

Winner of the 2014 RWNZ Romance Book of the Year, Barbara DeLeo’s first book, co-written with her best friend, was a story about beauty queens in space. She was eleven, and the sole, handwritten copy was lost years ago much to everyone’s relief. It’s some small miracle that she kept the faith and now lives her dream of writing sparkling contemporary romance with unforgettable characters.

Degrees in English and Psychology, and a career as an English teacher, fuelled Barbara’s passion for people and stories, and a number of years living in Europe gave her a love for romantic settings.

Discovering she was having her second set of twins in two years, Barbara knew she must be paying penance for being disorganized in a previous life and was determined to get it right this time. It’s amazing what being housebound with four preschoolers will do for the imagination and she decided it was time to follow her writing dream. Funnily enough, those first manuscripts had not a single child in them.

With every word she writes, Barbara is sharing her belief in the transformational power of loving relationships. Married to her winemaker hero, Barbara’s happiest when she’s getting to know her latest cast of characters. She still loves telling stories about finding love in all the wrong places, but now without a beauty queen or spaceship in sight.
