Can Laurel Monroe find happiness in Second Chance?

Laurel Monroe is often the overlooked middle child of the Hollywood Monroes. She always is the one that goes with the flow and does whatever her parents want from her. Even if that includes doing something that she dislikes with her identical twin sister, Ashley. Jonah is the scriptwriter, Laurel is the fashion designer, and Ashley is the actress. Except Laurel’s designs are mostly only made by Ashley, and she wants to do something that isn’t hidden by her younger sister’s shadow anymore. I like Laurel and was excited to see her morph into her own person throughout the story.

Mitch Kincaid

Mitch Kincaid is Second Chance’s mayor and the Lodgepole Inn’s innkeeper. He is also a single father to a preteen daughter who is growing up too fast for him. Mitch doesn’t know what the Monroes have planned for Second Chance, and he knows as mayor of the town, he needs to try to convince them to leave the town the way they found it. I love Mitch and how protective of his daughter he is. In the way that he doesn’t want to see her get hurt.

The way he feels the need to look at things the way a lawyer does while also looking at them the way a mayor as well. He also sees things as a potential lover of a Monroe sees them. I love how he sticks to his points and tries to convince the three who are left to keep to their grandfather’s wishes without breaking the NDA he signed.

Five Stars

I am giving five stars to Snowed in with the Single Dad by Melinda Curtis, along with a recommendation to read this series. I love every single book in this series that I have read. Granted, that’s only been three books, but each is fantastic. I like how Ms. Curtis can make each one flow right into the next while also allowing that book’s couple to shine and keep the family in front so that you always know that there is more to come.

Ms. Curtis is a fantastic author, and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Although Melinda has lived in Georgia and Texas, she’s a California girl at heart. Her earliest memories are of life on an isolated 50-acre sheep ranch in rural Sonoma County, California. Picture rolling hills covered in brown grass, a eucalyptus forest, a long gravel driveway lined with plump sheep and no sidewalks. It was a big deal to drive into town on a one-lane road in a ramshackle, bubble-fendered pickup for an ice cream.

Flash forward to this century. Melinda lives in California’s hot central valley with her husband – her basketball playing college sweetheart. With three kids the couple has done the soccer thing, the karate thing, the dance thing, the Little League thing and, of course, the basketball thing.

Melinda writes sweet to medium heat contemporary romances as Melinda Curtis and red hot reads as Mel Curtis.
