Can he teach her survival skills--without endangering his heart?
When Sabrina Bell taps Leith Jordan for a crash course in conquering the great Alaskan outdoors, he figures he's on safe ground. They're polar opposites and his spectacular home state's just a pit stop for the hotshot fashionista. So no one's more surprised than Leith when he starts falling for her. Now he's a man with a plan: get Sabrina to fall in love with Alaska...and, hopefully, with him.
What is more important love or security?
An Alaskan Proposal by Beth Carpenter is delightful. I enjoyed visiting the spectacular places in Alaska along with Sabrina. Did you know that there is silicon cookware for camping? Yep, there is, and it collapses for easy storage and to fit in your backpack. Apparently, I need to get out more.
So, the story has many fabulous characters, and Ms. Carpenter does a great job of showing how flawed and yet loving each of them can be.
Sabrina Bell
Sabrina is one of those people who look put together and to some very girly. You know the type perfect nails, hair never out of place, wears fancy clothes and snobby. However, if you thought that you would be very wrong.
Although, Sabrina is reserved, as she was hurt before and that has affected her life. She is also extremely money conscious and a hard worker. Sabrina also has a big heart which you don’t see until you get through the facade that she projects. I loved seeing her allow herself to grow with Leith and his friends.
Sabina has taken a job with an outfitting company, and they have placed her in the Anchorage, Alaska store to train. The only problem is she doesn’t know anything about the outdoors and to advance she needs to learn everything like now. This is where Leith comes in.
Leith Jordan
Leif works for a company that teaches survival training skills, along with first aid and many other things. He is a great outdoorsman and bachelor. The last thing that he wants is a woman in his life. You see, Leith was also hurt by his ex-wife.
Leith grew up in Anchorage, his family lives there, and all of his friends are there. He is adamant that this is where he will spend his life.
There are lots of things that I like about Leith, like the way his smile lights up his face, that children are drawn to him, his love of animals, and loyalty and willingness to help his family.
There was only one flaw that I found with Leith, and that was that he was judgmental. Well, at first anyway.
Random things that I liked about the story
- The dogs, Boomer, and Tal. They have such personalities, and they are a big part of the story.
- Learning about outdoor gear.
- Walter and his mustache. He is such a cool boss.
- Fishing for Kings and tackling the fish.
- That Leith didn’t just take Sabrina camping and hiking all of the time, he took her to museums and exhibits in town too.
- The Jordan family. They are all so sweet, especially Emma.
- The reindeer farm and wedding venue.
- Last but not least, the proposal. There are a couple of things about this, but you’ll have to read the book.
5 Stars for An Alaskan Proposal by Beth Carpenter
My rating for An Alaskan Proposal by Bet Carpenter is five stars. The story was fabulously written, and descriptions of the scenery were superb. It makes me want to visit Alaska even more. The characters all had their quirks and traits.

Love the Cover ?
BTW, the story of someone tackling a king salmon that almost got away is based on a true story my husband once witnessed on a fishing trip.
