Danica Lara

Danica Lara grew up in the small town of Seguin, Texas, and hasn’t ever thought of leaving her home. She has her friends here, and her job is here as well. Danica is trying to bring people to their small town hence the subdivision she is helping her friend’s ex-husband with. It is just giving her headaches, though. She is a little Spanish, and I like many things about Danica. The first thing that comes to my mind is that she has good intentions regarding the housing complexes. She feels that helping that guy will be worth it for the town. Another thing is that she embraces change, like getting herself glasses for the first time, and how she thinks of it as a badge to wear instead of to hide. I would say I could be friends with Danica.

Dr. Grady Urban

Dr. Grady Urban is an optometrist who wants to call Seguin his new home after finishing everything he needs to open up his practice. Grady has some great intentions in place but has some bad ways of following through with them. I’m glad he changed that throughout the book, especially after meeting Danica and getting to know her. Grady wants to succeed in all the ways that he can think of, and he is a great person. He helps kids at the school with their reading through the same program Danica is a part of and is just trying to get his business out there. I love his drive to get his company to succeed while unknowingly falling for Dianca more and more.

I love these two together and that they make a great couple.

Seeing Us by Audrey Wick is a sweet romance that shows that love can happen during any season, at any age, and even in hot Texas weather. Ms. Wick has done another amazing job of making me fall in love with the story of Danica and Grady. I have to say that Texas is a big state, and I have seen some pecan trees here. Sadly none during the fall season, but we shall see if I do this year. Speaking of pecans, there is a recipe in the back for Pecan Pie, so don’t forget to check it out when you read this book.

I am giving Seeing Us by Audrey Wick five stars and a recommendation to all sweet romance readers.
