From Thanksgiving bridesmaid to…Thanksgiving bride?

When her seventy-something grandmother announces plans to elope over Thanksgiving weekend, twentysomething Jenny Boyle has to laugh. The single schoolteacher barely dates, and now even her granny is outpacing her! But then, as Jenny makes sure the groom-to-be's intentions are pure, she meets his grandson, Zeke McNeil. And the strapping firefighter is the one starting the fire this time. Soon Jenny and Zeke are spending plenty of time together as they get sucked into their elders' elopement scheme. The connection is instant, and Jenny begins to wonder if maybe she should take a page from her granny's playbook…

A wedding on Thanksgiving?

Wedding at Turkey Run by Liz Flaherty is a novella to make you reconsider getting married on Thanksgiving Day. This story is super cute, and even though it’s short, I feel like I got to know the characters very well.

In this short story, we follow Jennifer, or Jenny, Boyle and Zeke McNeil trying to assist with their grandparent’s wedding day. Although, at first they don’t believe this whole thing will happen. I like how Zeke and Jenny get together and that they will do anything for the grandparents.

Jennifer Boyle

Jennifer, or commonly known to everyone as Jenny, is a twenty-nine-year-old special education teacher. She is also her grandmother’s bridesmaid and doesn’t know what to think about her grandmother, Emma, getting married for the second time.

What I like about Jenny (besides that she shares my mom’s name) is that she cares for her grandma and wants the best for her. I also love how she can diffuse a situation. I don’t think there is anything that I dislike about her.

Zeke McNeil

Zeke is the youngest grandson of Travis McNeil, who is marrying Emma, Jenny’s grandma and is a thirty-two-year-old firefighter. He, like Jenny, is his grandfather’s best man and is a bit worried about his grandfather getting married.

What I like about Zeke is that he is very straightforward about caring for his grandfather’s wellbeing. I also love that he is very kind and protective of the people he loves and for the women. Just like with Jenny I can’t find anything I dislike about him.

Five Stars

Wedding at Turkey Run by Liz Flaherty is a fantastic novella about weddings, being a family, and falling in love, all set around Thanksgiving time.

I am giving this book five stars and recommending it to everyone that loves romances.

About Liz Flaherty

Liz Flaherty (2)

Retired from the post office, Liz Flaherty spends non-writing time sewing, quilting, and doing whatever else she wants to. She and Duane live in the old farmhouse in North Central Indiana they moved to in 1977. They’ve talked about moving, but really…40 years’ worth of stuff? It’s not happening!
