Chance Blackwell's return--Could cost her everything!

Ten years after he eloped with Katie Montgomery's sister, Chance Blackwell is back in Montana to sell his family ranch. Katie could lose her job and the only home she's known. But the loyal cowgirl is keeping a secret that could shatter trust and jeopardize her future with the widowed musician and her toddler niece. Unless Chance's growing affection for her and all things Blackwell can earn Katie his forgiveness--and his love.

Will Chance agree to keep the ranch or sell it?

The end of The Blackwell Brother’s Return is here with The Rancher’s Homecoming by Anna J. Stewart. This last book is about the fifth Blackwell brother, Chance Blackwell, and their ranch hand Katie Montgomery. Chance Blackwell is the deciding vote to keep the ranch or to sell it. He doesn’t have time for the ranch as he is a famous singer who is trying to make a comeback. Katie Montgomery just wants to be able to work and live at the only place she has called home.

Chance Blackwell

The main male character is Chance Blackwell. He is the youngest of all the Blackwell siblings. Chance is also the only sibling that doesn’t like ranching and hasn’t been back home in over ten years. He is a father to a beautiful little girl, Rosie and a widow. His wife died almost two years ago.

What I like

I like that Chance took his little girl to meet both sides of the family all along knowing that he doesn’t belong on the ranch. He is also a great dad which I adored. He has a great connection to Rosie and been her sole world since his wife passed. Another thing that I like about Chance is that despite everything in him telling him to leave the ranch, he is still there trying to make it work.

What I dislike

What I dislike about Chance is that he knows how stubborn the Montgomery family could be and yet he didn’t wait to hear Katie’s side of the story. The last thing that I don’t like about Chance is that he didn’t want his daughter to get attached to the ranch or her family. He never thought he would fall in love with the place that he tried so hard to leave.

Katie Montgomery

The main female character is Katie Montgomery, and she has a lot of explaining to do. Katie has been since the beginning, but we learn a lot about her in this book. All Katie has ever wanted to be is the foreman of the Blackwell Ranch and to be there for her dad. She also wanted to meet Rosie in person. The only thing stopping her from getting everything is the fact that Big E has left. Or has he really taken off?

Likes and Dislikes

What I like about Katie is that she is the one constant thing in all the books. She is the primary person running the ranch while Big E has run off to do whatever he is doing. However, Katie was the one that has kept the ranch running even with Big E was there. What I don’t like about Katie is that she didn’t tell Chance sooner about Big E’s scheme.

Rancher's Homecoming CRFive Star

I am giving The Rancher’s Homecoming by Anna J. Stewart a five-star rating. She did a fabulous job of wrapping up this little series. Chance and Katie are perfect for each other and make a terrific team parenting Rosie.

Anyways until the next time enjoy this review brought to you by,

About Anna J. Stewart

Anna Stewart

What happens when geek girls grow up?  This one became a writer.

You’ve met me (or someone like me) before. I was the girl who spun in circles on the playground hoping my Wonder Woman costume would magically appear before playing cops and robbers a la Charlie’s Angels–Sabrina was my favorite. I was the girl in the back of the class with a paperback romance hidden in her algebra book (and yes, I failed algebra). I was the girl making up stories about the Starship Enterprise and trying to figure out how I could join the Hardy Boys on their latest adventure.

I can’t remember not having a book in my hand or a story in my head. Growing up in the 70′s and 80′s meant there weren’t a lot of YA books, so I ventured early into mainstream fiction and read Stephen King’s CARRIE at the age of 8. Discovering Nora Roberts and romance novels early in high school opened my eyes to the wonders of storytelling and the beauty of a happily ever after.

There’s something incredible about creating something out of nothing, of having a glimmer of an idea transform itself into a story somewhere between thought and fingers.Creating rich characters with life altering conflicts, setting them on their journeys of self-discovery to their happily ever afters is what I live to do. It’s what I love doing. Those who say writing is hard work aren’t lying–at times the process is excruciating. But there is nothing like the rush that comes from bringing a story to life with the stroke of the pen or the click of the keys.

So here I am, many years later, an English Degree on my wall, a Golden Heart nomination behind me, countless stories in my head, and coping with a serious addiction to STAR TREK, SUPERNATURAL, and SHERLOCK. A hybrid author writing sweet and mainstream romance, romantic suspense and paranormal romance. Life doesn’t get any better than that.
