A table for two

When Joe and Corinne Armstrong are unexpectedly left to their own devices for Thanksgiving dinner, things couldn't be more awkward. They're in the middle of a divorce, and the holiday—usually spent with their close friend and her young son—brings up memories of each other they would both rather forget. Six months ago when Corinne suggested they go their separate ways, Joe agreed. They vowed to always be friends, but such a feat proves impossible when neither is sure what the other is really thinking. Suddenly, it becomes clear that what they wanted all along was each other. Thanksgiving becomes the do-over they needed…and there's plenty to be thankful for!

Will Corrine be able to handle being alone with Joe on Thanksgiving?

The Marriage Gift by Tara Taylor Quinn is an okay story in this anthology. It was an all right plot. There were some mistakes in the book as well, but I was able to look over those.

In this one, we follow Corrine Armstrong and Joe Armstrong who are both getting divorced and trying to stay friends.

Corrine Armstrong

What I like about Corrine is that she finds the good in everything. What I don’t like about her is that she didn’t try to talk to her husband and figure out these issues instead of doing what she did.

Joe Armstrong

What I like about Joe is that he still apparently has feelings for Corrine. I felt sorry as he is going with the whole divorce since that is what she wants. What I don’t like about him is that he didn’t try to fight for his marriage either.

Four Stars

The Marriage Gift by Tara Taylor Quinn is not something that I would read most of the time. I feel bad for the people going through things like the couple do in this book.

I am giving this book four stars and recommending it to anyone that loves second chance style romances and about almost divorced couples.

About Tara Taylor Quinn

Tara Taylor Quinn

I’ve been at this writing gig for a long time.  85 published books can attest to that.  I’ve been told that my books are deeply emotional and psychologically compelling looks at life.  To me, they’re just the way I co-exist with the voices in my head.  I’ve appeared often on local and national TV including CBS Sunday Morning, and frequently fill guest speaker slots.  I enjoy getting out and traveling, and I’m also very happy sitting alone for days at my computer living all kinds of different lives.  I was honored to win the Reader’s Choice Award and to final multiple times for the RWA RITA award.

I live life from my heart.  I’m a wife, a mother, a survivor, an in-line skater, and a supporter of The National Domestic Violence Hotline.  I am also a secret dog whisperer.
