Welcome to Normal, Kentucky~ where nothing is normal.

Who served up the murder at Normal Diner?

A beloved resident of Normal, Kentucky is found dead on the floor of the Normal Diner, leaving the entire town on high alert. Faster than the short order cook can say order up... the laundry ladies are in the scene.

News spreads fast about the murder and Detective Hank Sharp is hungry for answers.

Mae West along with the Laundry Club ladies come up with a list of suspects and the evidence is piling up faster than a juicy double cheeseburger.

Who murdered the beloved citizen?

Was it a hit to score some extra lunch money?

Sunsets, Sabbatical, and Scandal by Tonya Kappes is a different take on who the murderer could be.

Why would anyone kill Trudy?

What I like:

  • Mae standing up for herself and what she believes in
  • The Laundry Club Gals are helping out even more.
  • Hank’s protective nature
  • We are finding out more about Mae’s past with her blood family.
  • Hank wanting to help Mae figure out somethings about her past.
  • Mae’s relationships with Bobby Rae and Mary Elizabeth

Sunsets, Sabbatical, and Scandal CR (1)The Mystery

Trudy is the beloved citizen of Normal that is murdered. Now it is up to Mae and the rest of the Laundry Club Gals to get it figured out. Well, at least to help out the police. This case leads Mae and Hank to Mae’s hometown, where Mae leaves with more than just clues. There are lots of red herrings, but I kind of had an idea about who did it. I don’t want to spoil it, so just read the book to see if you can guess who did it too.

Five Stars

Reading Sunsets, Sabbatical, and Scandal by Tonya Kappes is like returning to a family get-together every time. I especially enjoy trying to solve a murder mystery together. I am giving it five stars and recommending it to anyone that loves a good cozy mystery. I love the camping/RV Hacks and recipes in the back of the book. Each one is fantastic to read about after solving the crime.
