Minnie Wells

Minnie Wells is dating Fitz and enjoying spending time with him. She is still having a fun time working at his tea house and working on her writing, along with learning things about her magic as well. Minnie convinced Fitz to open up the maze at his home to the public to earn money to fix his house. Fitz and Dom have been making it look beautiful again for the public to use and have fun with. Minnie is a fun character. I enjoy seeing how she takes to the magical world and how different that is from how Imogen took to it. I love all the characters in this series as much as Ms. Johnson’s last two book series.

The Mystery

Minnie finds herself trying to solve two different mysteries that have happened in the maze. She wants to solve them both and more so with the one that occurred the night of the soft-opening than two hundred years ago. Minnie and Dom saw a lady ghost in the maze that died a long time ago and then saw the newest victim go into the maze to find her sister. Minnie takes it upon herself to solve both cases because they might be connected somehow. I felt so bad for both victims, and I had a feeling about whodunit to the first victim. The second victim I had no clue who could have done it since it could have been anyone. Did you figure it out?

Five Stars

I am giving five stars to Steep With One Eye Open by Erin Johnson. I highly recommend any of Ms. Johnson’s series, as every book she writes keeps me guessing who could have done it. Ms. Johnson is a fantastic writer, and I can’t wait to see what else she does with Minnie. Hopefully, Minnie doesn’t have to keep too many more secrets.
