Mason Dandridge thought he could survive anything—fate’s about to test his strength and resolve.Tragedy sends Mason to Westica, on the hunt for Jessalyn Silverna, the only surviving victim of a sadistic killer-for-hire. What he finds is a broken woman, emotionally and physically scarred, unable to see her beauty or authority as a woman. Needing answers only she can provide, Mason is determined to persuade Jessi to return with him to Sziveria.
Learning her brutal past was a calculated plan turns Jessi’s life upside down. The quiet, sheltered existence she’s been living isn’t feasible anymore. Outside forces prove she’s incapable of life on her own, leaving Jessi with little options but to agree to Mason’s plan.
But life in Sziveria isn’t any easier, or less dangerous.Jessi’s genetic gift reveals a dark secret lurking in the Primary Guardian’s home. More than her talent is awakened though, as Mason urges Jessi to discover her sensual power, long hidden under the scars of her past. Wounds he’s determined to heal one kiss at a time…

Kynhaven by Sarah Westill is a fast-paced whirlwind of mystery, intrigue, and romance. I was utterly immersed in the story and couldn’t put it down.

Will Mason convince Jessalyn that a life with him could be good?

Mason Dandridge

Our hero Mason must endear some extremely horrible obstacles in this installment. The loss of his twin is a massive blow to him. The two have been partners in everything; he is so lost without her. Yet, he must find the evil being that killed his sister and exact justice. While doing that, he finds that there is another victim that survived and escaped the vicious killer. He vows to find her and see if she can help determine who hired the assassin.

So, many parts of this story link the special team to parts of the mystery group trying to take over Sziveria. We learn more about how far this group is willing to go for their disastrous goals.

We also see more of Mason’s personality and meet his Mother. She is quite a piece of work. And she isn’t about to let her son marry a nobody. The things that she does are so wrong, and it surprises me that her son allowed the actions for as long as he did. I enjoyed getting to know Mason better and seeing how he acts with his new wife and team.

Kynhaven CRJessalyn Silverna

Jessi is our heroine. She isn’t powerful, and most of the time, she is scared of men, but she really takes a shine to Mason. But Jessi doesn’t just give up her life and run away with Mason when he asks for her hand in marriage; she needs to stay put and help her guardian, Wilson. She is honorable, with minimal manners and a quick tongue, but I like her. Jessi also doesn’t like to back down. Oh, and she has a fantastic wolf-dog that is her companion and protector.

Jessalyn’s move to Sziveria isn’t easy, especially since her husband is out on a mission and not there to greet her when she arrives. She stays with Raina until Mason’s mom finds out about Jessi and whisks her to Kyn Manor to chase her away from Mason. Jessi does an excellent job of staying out of the dowager’s way. I think Jessi shows how much she is devoted to Mason. I don’t know if I could deal with all the cultural changes that she is going through and being humiliated repeatedly.

After some horrible events, they find some secrets about Jessi’s past and how it fits with the espionage they have been tracking. Honestly, I never saw any of this coming, and I can’t wait for the next book.

Five Stars

I love, love, loved it! My rating for Kynhaven by Sarah Westill is five stars. I started this book and literally couldn’t put it down. Ms. Westill is a fabulous author; the world, the characters, the mystery, everything always draws me in. I can’t wait for the next one in June, but I found the prequel in the meantime, and now I am off to read it.

If you are into fantasy romances with mystery, I highly recommend this book. Heck, check out the rest of the series too.

About Sarah Westill

Sarah Westill

Hello! Allow me to introduce myself to the universe, I am Sarah Westill. Christian, wife, mother, author, novice artist, professional photographer, graphic designer (this is actually my ‘real’ job), and teacher!
I homeschool our youngest for a few more months as he transitions from 6th to 7th grade, then I’m sending him to private school for actual 7th grade.

I also dabble in art. I love watercolors and have been tinkering with acrylic for a medium. I discovered I have a minor obsession with Golden paints, and have been investing in the primary colors that are in the same family (warm and cool) to make my own beautiful colors.

I absolutely LOVE to teach littles art. 2nd grade is my favorite. In addition to wanting to please, they actually still listen to instruction at this age and are so proud of themselves when they complete any portion. They aren’t hard on themselves yet, they don’t self-criticize. We can learn a lot from a 2nd grader. They also respond very well to praise and positive reinforcement.

On top of my writing, and my art dabblings, I’m also a semi-professional photographer. I say semi-pro because I haven’t had any official training, aside from working with actual pro-photographers, who helped me learn the ins and outs of exposure, composition, posing and depth of field. I absolutely adore portrait photography. Being able to capture a very human story, a moment in time for a new mother, a new marriage, is such an amazing opportunity and honor.

My job that helps pay for my path to self-publishing is a graphic designer. I’m a cover artist. Long story, but I work under the name Elaina Lee. A lot of people know Elaina the cover artist. I’m proud of that, and really blessed to have worked with hundreds of authors over the span of an entire decade.

I am excited to be starting this journey. To introduce to you my world, my Guardians, and the stories the characters have urged me to write. I hope you enjoy reading them over the coming years as much as I have enjoyed writing them.
