Plot Summary:

When a magician drops dead in the middle of a performance, New York Sentinel Crosswords editor (and part-time sleuth) Tess Harper and NYPD’s detective Logan O’Connor team up to discover exactly whose sleight of hand is behind what turns out to be premeditated murder. Together, they must uncover the not-so-obvious clues and work their investigative magic to bring a killer to justice.

My Thoughts:

Okay, so for this one, I didn’t get whodunit at all. No one in my family did. It was awesome to have a show/movie surprise me like that since normally I’m good at catching the clues. I won’t spoil it for anyone that hasn’t watched this movie yet, but I do have to say even if you do pay attention, it won’t help.

Cast

Lacey Chabert as always did a fantastic job as Tess. I love that she is learning magic and how each new movie she is doing something that involves a crossword that she is building. Tess is an excellent sleuth and is good at figuring out the clues. I would so totally be her friend if she was real and help her solve mysteries if she needed it.

Brennan Elliott, of course, is our detective Logan and he does a fantastic job. I love how he brings Logan to life, and it’s undeniable that he likes Tess even if he doesn’t want to admit it yet. Logan and Tess have such great chemistry, and in each new movie, it comes out more and more. He does an excellent job with the clue searching and is most of the time a step behind, or they show up around the same time.

Barbara Niven, as Aunt Candace, is perfect. Another thing that I love is that in each new movie that they do, aunt Candace’s role goes a bit further. In this one, she helps out by giving out clues that she doesn’t even realize our hints.

Kaitlyn Leeb is fabulous as the assistant. I like how she wants to be a magician and not just an assistant.

Five Stars

My most favorite parts have to be when they are in Magic Manor. I love every scene and set in that place. The building is so beautiful. Abracadaver is such a perfect title.

If you haven’t seen Abracadaver then you should, it is magnificent.
