New York Times Bestselling Author, HP Mallory, brings you the Peyton Clark Series which will appeal to fans of Sookie Stackhouse, Anita Blake and The Fever Series!

BROWN EYED GHOUL is the third book in the Peyton Clark Series.

Description:

The last thing Peyton Clark wants to do is visit the evil voodoo witch, Guarda, again. But once she promises two elderly and kind ladies that she will solve the missing-person case of their long dead relative, she realizes there’s no way around it.

With the help of Guarda’s magic, Peyton will find herself in 1910 New York with none other than Drake Montague, the twentieth century policeman, who used to haunt her house but now haunts her body… and her heart.

Can Peyton save Dorothy’s ghost without losing herself?

Brown Eyed Ghoul by H.P. Mallory is stupendous. I love the way that H.P. Mallory combines mystery, paranormal, and history to make a fabulous story.

Peyton Clark

Peyton can’t seem to say no, when someone asks her for help, even if that help may come at a personal debt to Peyton. It seems that the more she is told that she shouldn’t do it the more she wants to do it. I believe she is just an extremely caring person.

However, Peyton has got to figure out some things, on the personal side, and on the ghost hunting side. Let’s hope that she figures it out before she can’t anymore.

The Favor

Ada and her daughter Jill come to ask Peyton to help Ada’s mother, Alice and her birth mother Dorothy Arnold’s ghost. Alice who is deceased recently came to Ada when Ada passed away for a few minutes in the hospital and told her that her birth mother Dorothy’s ghost was unreachable. Alice won’t cross over until Dorothy can. So, here lies the favor. Peyton will have to travel back in time to figure out what happened to Dorothy before she can help Dorothy’s ghost.

You have a talent for getting yourself into trouble, ma minette, Drake said.

The look on Ryan’s face emphasized Drake’s sentiments. He shifted his weight in his chair and gave me an uneasy look.

Mallory, H.P.. Brown Eyed Ghoul: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance (The Peyton Clark Series Book 3) (Kindle Locations 1226-1228). Kindle Edition.

However, for Peyton to be able to travel back in time Peyton must see Guarda, the voodoo priestess. The last time Peyton dealt with Guarda, it wasn’t fun. So, this will not be easy.

A time past

The time in the history is my favorite part. Peyton and Drake travel back to early 1910 New York City. I think this is where H.P. Mallory’s storytelling truly shines. I could see the whole scene as it unfolded for Peyton. Drake was such an asset to have with her, as he had spent time in New Your City in his younger days. So, Drake was able to get around the city in ways that Peyton would never have been able to do.

I don’t want to spoil anything from this part as you need to read this book. Oh yes, remember how in every mention of time travel we are told that you can’t change the past or there will be consequences in the future. I am guessing that you just being where you weren’t before will change your current/future situation.

The return trip was slightly bumpy with some unexpected issues. Then we see some of those consequences may already be in play before Peyton is fully back in 2018. Again, I won’t tell, but you should read the book.

5 Stars for Brown Eyed Ghoul by H.P. Mallory

Brown Eyed Ghoul by H.P. Mallory gets a five stars rating. I adored the story. I stayed up and finished it. I tried to go to bed, but I couldn’t get Peyton out of my head. I am so glad that H.P. Mallory decided to continue with Peyton’s story. I highly recommend this book and series.

ABOUT HP taken from her website

Hi Everyone and thanks for finding me online!

I’m a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author which means I’ve been able to cross off a couple of line items on my bucket list! Woo Hoo!

I’ve always been a huge fan of the paranormal, especially anything to do with spirits and hauntings.. I get super excited whenever they have those Twilight Zone Marathon days and anything ghost or vampire related will always get my attention. Have a cool ghost story? Contact me and tell me all about it!

My interests are varied but aside from writing, I’m most excited about traveling. I love learning about new places (especially haunted ones) and I’m a huge history buff.

I live in Southern California with my son, an enormous St. Bernard and a really cranky cat.
