Solving this mystery could cost Bella and Markus everything…
After being away longer than he planned on a mission for Ruthenia, Markus Ralston returns with his wolf, Lunah, excited to see his pregnant wife. But his homecoming takes an unexpected turn when a grieving legal advocate is waiting on his doorstep with a dire plea.
Accused of murdering five women whose deaths were ruled accidents, the man insists he’s innocent. The accuser is Bella’s former boss, a determined investigator desperate to further his career and his guardian ranking, adding a challenging layer to an already difficult situation.
As Markus and Bella dig deeper into the case, cracks begin to form within their personal world. Bella’s siblings reveal a betrayal that cuts deeper than blood. One for which Markus unknowingly paid the price. Bella fears he may never be able to forgive her or her family. And Markus, ever steady, is suddenly questioning their future, the one thing he’s never had to doubt.
With tensions rising, old fears resurfacing, and the line between justice and ambition growing dangerously thin, Markus and Bella must settle the past for good to protect their future, even as misgivings of innocence creep in…
Broken Heart Questioned by Sarah Westill is fantastic!
Will Bella & Markus figure out who is killing the wives of the legal advocate?
Our investigators find themselves up against Bella’s old boss at SNID. Bella and Markus believe the man’s innocence. However, there are definitely discrepancies in the events surrounding his wives’ deaths. The investigation has them digging deeper into the lives of Hall Eastwise and his family.
Bella and Markus
Markus returns from Ruthenia to find that Bella is having a hard time with the pregnancy. I adore the way that these two connect. They are both strong-willed, and they still find ways to accommodate each other. However, their families are proving to be greedy and a bit prejudiced. It is inspiring to see how our power couple manages to find time for each other in the midst of family scabbles, an investigation with multiple deaths, and Bella’s pregnancy.
Five Stars
My rating for Broken Heart Questioned by Sarah Westill is five stars. I love this couple and the mysteries that they solve. Ms. Westill’s writing style is magnificent. She draws this beautiful and harsh land in my head, with good and bad people. Her writing shows compassion and humanity at its best and worst. If you haven’t read any of these, I highly recommend any of them. Bella is one of my favorite characters.
