Intriguing Escapades by Linda Weaver Clarke is about the Evans family going on small adventures.

What adventure’s will we go on?

The Treasure Hunt

The Evans family decided for their vacation time that they were going to go looking for a treasure chest that has been hidden for ten years by a professor. They have to read through the clues and figure out what they mean. Ms. Clarke has done a fantastic job with this one. The Evans family seems so real that I can picture everything that they are doing. Each of the different Evans family members are well-rounded characters. The way that they figured out the clues were awesome. The way they are on this hunt is what I think is the true treasure of the hunt. Spending time with family in the outdoors and enjoying the life that we have. I am giving this short little read five stars.

The Heist

Twins, Sharlene, and Faith Evans are now FBI agents tasked to figure out who would be stealing paintings from museums. The two of them travel down from the northern part of Utah to Arizona on this assignment that could make or break the twins staying as a team in the FBI. Sharlene and Faith met up with the Moore Detective Agency to see if their two cases are the same and join forces together.

I have to say reading about Amelia and Rick as if they aren’t together was a bit on the strange side as I did finish reading their series a bit ago. Sharlene and Faith Evans are extremely realistic. I liked how Ms. Clarke wrote down their differences and how each one only likes to do certain things. I like reading about this family. I am giving this short little read five stars.

The Missing PenguinIntriguing Escapades CR

I thought that this short story was a bit unrealistic until I got further along into it. Ms. Clarke is good at spinning her tales. Sharlene and Faith take a bit of a break to go to their hometown in the south part of Utah to see their parents. While there, Julia, their mom, wants them to look into the missing penguin case. Sharlene and Faith look into the case, and it’s just so weird about it all. We learn a bit more about the Evans family in this short, and I have to say that they are an intriguing bunch, that is for sure. I am giving this short little read five stars.

Devollyn’s Last Request

This is my first introduction to Devollyn, and I have to say that Devollyn seems like another intriguing character that Ms. Clarke whipped up in her imagination. The short story was written during the present time deals with how we are handling COVID-19. Reading this one was a bit hard as we are still dealing with it in different parts of the US and other parts of the world. I liked how Ms. Clarke was able to write this one without bogging it too down with the mentions of the virus. Another five-star rating on this short little read.

Five Stars

Intriguing Escapades by Linda Weaver Clarke shares four new short reads of the Evans family if you have missed them or as a great way to pop into their lives. Just a warning of caution that you might want to read the rest of the series. I think that they will be getting put on my list. Ms. Clarke has done a great job of bringing each of these characters to life in these small short reads. Another great thing that I like that Ms. Clarke does when she decides to write these short stories is to bring forth a bit of history into them or something from the present day as well.

Ms. Clarke knows how to weave together a great story that keeps her readers coming back for more. I am giving this book five stars and recommending it to anyone that likes cozy mysteries that don’t deal with death.
