Will Jolie and Ava solve this mystery before all of the holiday celebrations?

Jolie Tucker

Jolie Tucker is still working through all of her issues in counseling and has entered couples counseling with Mick to ensure that they don’t end up having a full-blown argument. The further we get into these mysteries and find that they are all interconnected, somehow makes me wonder if Jolie is the right person to solve them. She and Ava have their PI business, but that doesn’t mean they should be going after these bad guys. I feel for them as this is their home and everything but maybe let the professionals solve it. Jolie, at times, is a great character, and then at other times, not so much. It’s hard to explain if you haven’t read the books. If I were to meet Jolie out on the streets, I would first think she’s okay, but after getting to know her, I’d step back a bit. I used to think we had a lot in common but not so much anymore as we get further into these mysteries and her life.

The Mystery

Like I said above, Jolie and Ava find a skeleton in the church’s sub-cellar and are determined to solve this mystery. Jolie goes down history lane to 1997 to figure out the skeleton’s identity and what they have to do with all the crimes leading back to Jackson Nestle. I was too distracted by the many things happening in this story to figure out who did it since no one presented themselves in the manner of sticking their noses in the sleuth’s case.

Four Stars

I am giving four stars to Yuletide Cast of the Iron Skillet by Jodi Rath and recommending those who like a lot of drama with your mystery. It only makes sense if you have read any of the books in this series to read this one, as they are all connected somewhat. Sure they don’t talk about the other cases, but it’s in the story’s subtext. Ms. Rath is a good author who needs to go through the book a bit more and maybe cut down on some things. Other than that, I liked the book.
