A Gen-Heir to her assassin father’s legacy, Katria Nachemir will do almost anything to find the person responsible for murdering her mother and sister. Even become an assassin herself. In exchange for a deeper investigation into their deaths, she agrees to be a member of an Intel Guardian team, despite knowing the path is the last one her father would wish her to take.
Generations of dark family history have left Sean Blackbain, Primary Guardian Wintersfall, with limited choices. Either remain in Sziveria to face the whispers, or become the leader of a team and disappear.
Three years later, a botched assignment sends the team home, and a shocking detail is revealed concerning Sean and Katria’s government contracts. They’re married.
With Sean’s tainted past, and Katria’s carefully guarded family secret, neither are prepared for marriage. Exploring the murders of Katria’s family proves to be dangerous, and Sean realizes he’ll do anything to keep his wife safe. As they work together to discover the intricate lengths an unknown enemy has gone to keep the truth hidden, the passion they denied for so long begins to boil over. The bonds of their relationship are tested as the professional lines engrained between them blur.
Wintersfall by Sarah Westill is a new and exciting look into the possible future of humanity.
Will Sean and Katria find love in the situation that they have been thrust into?
Katria
Katria is a fabulous character. She is strong, intelligent, quick-witted, and extremely loyal. Katria is also beautiful and has her own style that doesn’t fit in with society. She is part of an elite team, and her life revolves around that team and their missions until they are called home. Now, Katria has a different life to navigate, and she has to do it while trying to find the person or people responsible for the death of her mother and sister.
I think Katria is wonderful. How many women are sharpshooters? I honestly don’t know, but I believe that it is fantastic. Katria is that silent stubborn type, and yet she is completely loyal. I was rooting for her before she ever met the rest of the team.
Sean
Sean is the head of their team, and he is high in society. He is extremely loyal and cares deeply about his team. His talents give his team advantages that others don’t have. However, much like Katria, Sean’s family has a dark past, and he is still trying to deal with society’s implications on him. Yet, he makes sure to follow orders and put the safety of others first.
I like Sean. He is such a great friend to Kevin and Mason. Honestly, they are like a family. I would mind being his friend, although I don’ have any specialties that would help his team out.
The World
This version of the world is a bit dark but fresh. There is good and evil as there is now. The classes are still messed up, but that doesn’t seem to stop this team from trying to save it. Nor does it stop the occupants from finding love.
Five Stars
Ms. Westill truly surprised me with this one. I read the synopsis, but it doesn’t do her writing justice. She has a way of letting you see right into the character’s soul, hurt, love, and all. My rating for Wintersfall by Sarah Westill is five stars. I am so glad that I got to read this book.
If you are into futuristic, paranormal romances with a touch of mystery and suspense, this book is perfect for you. I recommend it.
