Romansa Castle where love is all around—if you dare take a chance on it.
Regency author Arietta is invited to a posh wedding of a non-friend and a not for very long boyfriend she ditched years ago. She doesn’t intend accepting. Her brother has other ideas and thwarts her intention to refuse. He answers ‘yes’ for her and sends his friend to be her partner.
Moss Kirby, heartthrob film star is happy to do his friend a favor. Arietta is not happy. No one would believe he was interested in her…would they? Moss persuades her otherwise, and they begin to get to know each other.
Which could have gone well except life has a habit of throwing people curve balls. When Moss needs somewhere to stop while he is filming, he moves into Arietta’s spare room. What with gossip abounding, deadlines looming and filming at crazy hours, Arietta accepts her life is upside down. She doesn’t expect Moss to introduce Audie, his daughter, who doesn’t believe Arietta is real and needs somewhere to stay whilst her mother is ill. Arietta hears herself offering. Once Audie leaves, Arietta is at a loose end, decides on a break, chooses a hotel and to her horror sees Moss with a woman. He tries to explain—she won’t listen. Her brother interferes again, and tells her who Audie’s mother is. Arietta accepts she has to make amends and it’s not going to be easy.
When the story of Audie gets around—wrongly, it makes Moss and Arietta pull together, and realise how much the other matters. Will love conquer?

The Fix Up by Raven McAllan is a cute romantic comedy set in Scotland.

Can Arietta and Moss pretend to be in a relationship for the wedding?

Arietta Claire

Arietta Claire is our heroine, and she also writes Regency-era novels. The novels are more of historical romantic suspense from the way that Arietta talks about them. She is a good main character even though she got jealous about some things Moss did. Arietta is a homebody that is slowly changing her ways thanks to Moss. Audie is also helping with that as well.

The Fix Up CRMoss Kirby

Moss Kirby is our hero and an actor who knows Arietta’s twin brother, Thomas. He is a good character and is trying to get Arietta to fall in love with him since he already is. That part I didn’t really follow. Moss is trying to juggle his career, getting to be with Arietta and everything else that he is trying to do. He does end up not doing some things right with Arietta, but then he fixes that. Moss is a good character.

Three Stars

The Fix Up by Raven McAllan is a good romance that gives you a lot of information. Ms. McAllan has done a good job of bringing this universe to life, even if it is in our world and not anything else that is magical.

There is a lot that took me out of the book. One of those things is the lack of knowing how much time has passed. Another thing is that Arietta got a lot of books done from the beginning of the book to the end. The last thing is the fact that Ms. McAllan put the castle as the forefront of the plot, and other parts, but then we didn’t get to it until near the end.

My rating for The Fix Up by Raven McAllan is three stars, and I’m not really sure if I recommend it. I can only say pick it up if you want to read it.

About Raven McAllan

Raven Mcallan

After 30 plus years in Scotland, Raven now lives near the east Yorkshire coast, with her long-suffering husband, who is used to rescuing the dinner, when she gets immersed in her writing, keeping her coffee pot warm and making sure the wine is chilled.

With a new home to decorate and a garden to plan, she’s never short of things to do, but writing is always at the top of her list.

Her other hobbies include walking along the coast and spotting the wildlife, reading, researching, cros stitch and trying not to drop stitches as she endeavours to knit.

Being left-handed, and knitting right-handed, that’s not always easy.

She loves hearing from her readers, either via her website or by email or social media.
