I see ghosts, but I do my best to ignore them. When Eddie Casey returned home to New Orleans from her carefully built Seattle life, it’s not just for her grandmother’s funeral. She’s home to stay. More to the point, now that she’s broken it off with the almost fiancé and quit her corporate junior designer position over one too many trainings on how to run a copier, she has no reason to return.

With the money she’ll receive in her inheritance, she can finally open the antique store she’s always dreamed of – that as long as her ability to see ghosts stays dormant. In Seattle, her gift had dwindled down to seeing the occasional ghost during her morning runs in her Queen Anne neighborhood. But here? New Orleans is filled with the visitors, as her grandmother always called them. And now, they are finding Eddie and want to chat. Especially about the most recent murder.

Can Eddie carve out a real life here among the spirit world?

A Medium Fate by Lynn Cahoon sees Eddie Cayse returning home for her grandmother’s funeral and maybe staying.

Will Eddie find out what happened to the recent murder victim?

Eddie Cayse

Eddie Cayse was living in Seattle, thinking she was living the good life. Until she realized that her boyfriend was cheating on her and decided to move back home. Well, that and the fact that her grandma just passed made that decision for her. Eddie is a lovely person who tries hard to keep her family out of her personal life, even though it is hard. What I like about Eddie is that she tries to live the life she wants to have while still having the life she actually does.

A Medium Fate CRThe Mystery

Eddie Cayse recently returns home and finds a dead body in her newly purchased antique shop. She doesn’t have the typical motive of a sleuth to figure out who did it since she only wants to get back merchandise that was supposed to be in the store but isn’t. The more she dives into the mystery; the more things seem strange at the antique shop. Eddie is trying her best, and I didn’t figure it out before the culprit laid it out.

Five Stars

I am giving A Medium Fate by Lynn Cahoon five stars and a recommendation to anyone who likes paranormal mysteries in New Orleans. Ms. Cahoon has done a superb job of laying out the beginning of what should be a fantastical series.
