ONCE UPON A TIME, A HISTORICAL ROMANCE AUTHOR CREATED A FAMILY…
But not just any family. Eight brothers and sisters, assorted in-laws, sons and daughters, nieces and nephews, (not to mention an overweight corgi), plus an irrepressible matriarch who’s a match for any of them… These are the Bridgertons: less a family than a force of nature. Through eight bestselling novels, readers laughed, cried, and fell in love. But they wanted more.
And so the readers asked the author…
What happened next? Does Simon ever read his father’s letters? Do Francesca and Michael become parents? Who would win in a Pall Mall grudge match?
Does “The End” really have to be the end?
Now, with The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After, Julia Quinn delivers eight sexy, funny, and heartwarming “2nd epilogues,” plus a bonus story about none other than the wise and witty Violet Bridgerton herself. So get to know the Bridgertons all over again—because Happily Ever After is a whole lot of fun.
The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After by Julia Quinn is filled with lovely stories of the Bridgerton families.
Violet is a complete class act.
This book is a collection of the second epilogues from the first eight books. I read those with the main stories. So, I am focusing on Violet’s story.
Violet Ledger Bridgerton
Violet is one of my favorite characters in this series. She has class, intelligence, wit, cunning, and she loves completely. This story gives us readers an insight into young Violet, and she is adorable. It would have been epic if she could only have gotten that terrible Bridgerton boy back for the horrible prank. Although, Mr. Ledger was willing to fight for Violet’s honor, which was darling.
It was so lovely to see the flirtation, love, and respect that she and Edmund found in their lives. I feel that she misses him until the end when they will reunite. This story tells why Violet teaches her boys to dance with the wallflowers and to be kind and courteous to them.
Edmund Bridgerton
Edmund, at ten years old, is a mischievous boy. He visits the Millertons, who are neighbors to the Ledgers, and Edmund plays a prank on Violet that involves flour. Clearly, he liked her even back then. Once he finds her at a ball, it isn’t long before he sweeps her off of her feet. Their romance is true love.
Edmund as a father is remarkable. He takes time to be present in his children’s lives. He was an amazing gentleman. Sadly, he was lost so early in life.
Five Stars
I would rebuy this book just to read Violet’s story. I do wish that Ms. Quinn would have given us more, but what reader doesn’t wish that of a brilliant series? My rating for The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After by Julia Quinn is five stars. I recommend the entire series to all regency romance readers out there.
Don’t forget that you can watch Shondaland‘s rendition of Bridgerton on Netflix. Seasons one and two are available now.
