The town of Fern Valley, in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, has overdosed on cuteness for its first teddy bear and toy festival. Adorable bears have taken over every inch of the town, and Jules Keene can barely keep up with all the guest check-ins at her glamping resort. To add to the fun, a team of paranormal investigators set their sights on her vintage trailers and the new treehouse as they investigate the local haunts.

It quickly becomes evident that things aren’t all sweet and cuddly when someone absconds with collectible toys. Then, to make matters worse, Jules and her friends trip over something not so other-worldly at an abandoned motel during a paranormal investigation. The very real corpse is the prickly vendor who raised a ruckus about his stolen merchandise and the weird things that were afoot in the cozy, one-stop light town.

Jules has to calm frayed nerves and solve the mystery before there are any other thefts or grisly murders.

Teddy Bears and Ghostly Lairs by Heather Weidner has it all, from teddy bear sellers to ghost sightings.

Can Jules figure out who killed one of the vendors for the teddy bear and toys festival?

Jules Keene

Jules Keene really doesn’t mean to find mysteries, but they do find her. She just wanted a normal festival in her small town, with the vendors staying at her resort so that everyone could have a lovely time. Now, Jules has another mystery to solve, and one that she isn’t too keen to do. I honestly get it, especially how everyone in that party was acting. Jules is a great sleuth, and we were mostly head-to-toe on figuring this investigation out together. It’s always a treat to come back and spend time with Jules. She’s like an old friend that I want to spend more time with.

The Mystery

The paranormal investigators invited Jules up to a reading that they were going to do at the abandoned motel up on the ridge when they stumbled upon the dead guy. Well, after that, Jules just had to figure out who killed him since that wasn’t a coincidence. Especially with everything else that happened afterwards. This case was one ol’ doozy. It definitely had me quite a few times since I just couldn’t fathom who would want him dead or why he was killed with the evidence that was piling up. I did figure it out slightly before Jules.

Four Stars

My rating for Teddy Bears and Ghostly Lairs by Heather Weidner is four stars. I am recommending this book because it was good. Ms. Weidner has a way of keeping me guessing about who could have done it. The ones I like are when she makes me second-guess who I think did it, based on all the clues she has put throughout the book. This time I didn’t falter, and I’m glad that I was right. I like coming back to visiting Fern Valley with Jules and the rest of the gang, so I can’t wait to see what happens next.
