My Rating:

four-stars

My Thoughts:

This movie is the first in Hallmark’s Movies, and Mysteries Must Solve Sundays 2019. I am so totally in love with this movie. This movie reminded me of the original Nancy Drew Mystery books. When Ruby and her sister were running around trying to solve the mystery, just Ruby herself doing that, and of course Ruby and Jake reminded me of Ned and Nancy.

Taylor Cole is an excellent actress, especially as Ruby Herring. The detective Jake Killian who is played by Stephen Huszar did a fabulous job, and I can’t wait to see more of this series with them.

In the movie, there was a lot of red herrings, and I thought I knew who did it, but then I second guessed myself. Okay, my whole family did when we were watching the movie. This movie was definitely a good detective mystery. I even liked the whole little “Day One – Monday” before the scenes that had to deal with that day.

The one thing that I have to say that I disliked is the casting for the mom and dad. The mom was played by Debra Donohue, and I thought she was the grandma. Seriously the mom? The dad was played by Shawn Christian who I was thinking looks too young to be married to Debra Donahue. The casting for these two roles completely threw me for a loop, and I had to keep reminding myself that they are married in the movie. However, I think that Shawn Christian did a spectacular job and was completely believable.
