A focused cowboy, a distracted executive, and a hilarious quest make for an unforgettable holiday . . .
Wyatt Nash is a professional tie-down roper, a good ranch hand, and not too shabby when it comes to attracting women. But according to his five-year-old niece, he needs to work on both his roping skills and his dating game. His sister thinks he needs to settle down. And don’t get him started on the advice he gets from well-meaning friends. When his rodeo sponsor, billionaire Jon Sinclair, asks for his assistance in tutoring a clueless city girl about Sinclair Industries, Wyatt doesn’t feel like he can say no. Then he discovers he’ll be teaching none other than the one woman on the planet who wants nothing to do with him.
Ashley Jarrett would do almost anything to turn her small publicity firm into a huge success. When Jon Sinclair expresses interest in working with her, she readily agrees to his crazy idea to have her learn about his company through hands-on projects. Not only is she forced far outside her comfort zone, but the man documenting every bumbling misstep she takes is an infuriating cowboy she’s determined to ignore.
Packed with small-town charm and the wonder of falling in love, Roping Christmas is a sweet holiday romance sure to bring laughter and infuse hearts Christmas cheer.
Roping Christmas by Shanna Hatfield is a humourous and wonderful tale of finding love and what truly matters to you.
Will Ashley and Wyatt find true happiness with each other?
Ashley
Ashley is such a wonderful character. She is intelligent, beautiful, organized, and ambitious. Ashley also has patience because I don’t know if I could endure some of the things that she has to do to earn the contract of her dreams. However, with the help of friends and family Ashley takes the humiliation in stride and whips out a bit of retribution at the same time.
The one thing that Ashley did that bothered me, probably as much as it did her, was not being prepared for the first assignment that Mr. Sinclair gave her. However, she seemed to have gotten a handle on it after that. Ok, for the most point, anyway.
Ashley is a great character, and she fits in with the rest of the rodeo guys and girls quite well.
Wyatt
Wyatt is great; he is going about his own business when Mr. Sinclair calls in a favor and turns his world upside down. Wyatt is tasked with teaching Ashley, or “Crashley,” as he nicknames her, how to use all of the different products that Mr. Sinclair produces. Most of which you can find at your local feed store, which may also be owned by Mr. Sinclair’s companies. The thing that Wyatt doesn’t realize is that Mr. Sinclair is also a matchmaker.
Wyatt is great with his family and especially his adorable niece. He is a calf roper in the rodeo, and yet, he lacks confidence when it comes to Ashley and his feelings for her. I do love the way that they introduce each other to their families.
The Families
Their grandparents are hoots. Wyatt’s Meemaw and Pawpaw are so fabulous. They make me miss my own grandparents. Ashley’s Granny and her bath rug made me laugh out loud.
Wyatt’s niece Livy is adorable and steals the show once when she is around. Here is a quote from Livy to Wyatt.
“If you’re gonna marry Ashley and have babies for me to play with, you better figure out a way to be nice to her, Uncle Wyatt. She could be your very own princess, maybe even a queen.”
Five Stars
My rating for Roping Christmas is five stars. I absolutely love how Shanna Hatfield envisions this wonderful world with these amazing characters and creates these humourous situations to bring them together. She is a brilliant storyteller. I highly recommend this and any of her books. I haven’t found one that I didn’t like.
