A second mystery for thirteen-year-old Agatha Oddly – a bold, determined heroine, and the star of this stylish new detective series.
Agatha Oddlow’s set to become the youngest member of the Gatekeepers’ Guild, but before that, she’s got a mystery to solve!
There’s been a murder at the British Museum and, although the police are investigating, Agatha suspects that they’re missing a wider plot going on below London – a plot involving a disused Tube station, a huge fireworks display, and five thousand tonnes of gold bullion…
Murder at the Museum by Lena Jones sees Agatha dealing with going back to school while still waiting patiently for the trial to start to become a Guild member.
Will Agatha stop anything sinister from happening?
Agatha Oddlow
Agatha Oddlow has loved her summer vacation and isn’t thrilled about returning to school. The biggest reason is that Agatha has a mystery to solve, and she has to become the youngest Gatekeepers’ Guild agent. Agatha loved the freedom that summer afforded her to investigate, and now she has to do it around school time. I love Agatha’s tenacity to do whatever she wants without minding the consequences. Well, until she realizes that she may actually hurt someone that she loves by her gumption of getting involved in mysteries that she probably shouldn’t be getting into yet. I can’t wait to see what her next case brings Agatha.
The Mystery
The first mystery happened to be a murder at the British Museum. After finding her first mystery since she solved the red slime, Agatha has decided that she needs to investigate despite Liam not thinking it’s a great idea. Honestly, it probably isn’t, but “No Case Too Odd” for the Oddlow Detective Agency. Agatha realizes that something further must be happening than a simple murder when she discovers much more. I have to say that Agatha had me going with solving the case. Ms. Jones got me real good on the culprit, and here’s to hoping Agatha brings back up with her in the future.
Five Stars
I am giving Murder at the Museum by Lena Jones five stars, and I recommend it. I love an excellent middle-grade mystery, and this one kept me guessing who could be that nefarious to plan this.
