Dive into this mermaid novella tonight!
Estella Pearl has dreams for her future that her family doesn't understand. She wants to be a scientist who discovers a way to save the Great Barrier Reef, but her father hopes Estella will take over their pearl farm. Meanwhile, Estella's older sister, Marisa, is marrying the Norwegian heir to a fish oil fortune and wants Estella to settle down too.
Uncertain about her future and unwilling to stand up to the merfolk who boss her around, Estella escapes to the surface, where she meets Ian, a human with troubles of his own. Ian's vacation aboard the luxury cruise ship the Hans Christian Anderson has turned into a nightmare thanks to his parents' constant bickering. Ian's solace is the ocean, and he plans to earn his Ph.D. in marine biology.
When these two science nerds meet, it's love at first sight, and the only thing stopping their happily ever after is DNA.

Can two science nerds figure out how to be together?

Mermaid Aboard by Louise Cypress is a great short little read. It’s a perfect beach read. It doesn’t take that long, and you won’t want to put it down.

Estella

Estella is a mermaid that lives in the Tahitian Sea and is dealing with her sister’s wedding. She wants to be a scientist that will help out with her father’s clam farm. So much happens from the beginning of the book to the end of it. She is also only seventeen years old. Estella had a lot of character development in a short time.  She went from letting people swim all over her, to telling her dad what she actually wanted to do.

Ian

Ian is a college-aged teenage boy that is on a cruise with his parents. They hoped it would help fix their marriage, but it isn’t working. He wants to be a scientist one day and is working his way through college. Then he meets Estella, and his whole world gets turned around. He also has a lot of character development. Ian is a great character and works really well with Estella’s character.
