An invitation to a medieval festival. A ferry ride to a mysterious island. A scheming, inept witch. An office break-in, an unidentified body, and a string of suspects. Can Hayden, her brave, sassy cat, Latifa, and the people of Destiny Falls solve the mystery and enjoy the festival?
~ Jousting and Justice follows the series format of combining two stories that blend into one. A murder mystery and the island mystery.
The Island Mystery: Hayden and all her friends get an invitation to a medieval festival - but it's on "the forbidden island." It's too enticing to pass up. Of course, strange things will happen once they get there! . . . You'll also learn the truth about the witch's sister in this book! The Murder Mystery: A dead body shows up in the most shocking place. First, they need to figure out who this dead guy is. Then, who killed him and why. There are so many twists and turns on the way to the answers! But we know that Hayden, Latifa, and their family and friends will figure it out and justice will be served.
Hayden’s many adventures in Destiny Falls will keep you guessing with each book in this intriguing series.
In Jousting and Justice by Elizabeth Pantley, we are learning an identity, figuring out who killed the guy in the newspaper archive room, and how much fun it will be at the medieval festival they were invited to. Hayden and her friends are going to have a wonderful time figuring everything out.
Can Hayden and her friends figure out why the person was killed in the newspaper archive room?
Hayden
Hayden Caldwell is getting used to being a conduit along with her brother Axel. She also has to solve another mystery and figure out why the whole town was invited to this medieval festival, to begin with. Hayden is quite the character, and I love how she fits into living in Destiny Falls. It’s fun to explore new areas with Hayden. Quite like Hayden, I thought that Destiny Falls would be the size of one of the San Juan Islands. Apparently, we were wrong. Hayden takes all this new information in like a sponge and gets used to the idea that she will never figure out Destiny Falls. If I were to meet Hayden on the streets, I still feel like I would be nice to her. Plus, Latifa is so funny and Lola getting her voice is super cute.
Mystery
Hayden and her neighbor businessmen find the dead body in her archive room surrounded by a bunch of old newspaper editions. Let’s say that if I were to find a dead body where I worked, I would have high-tailed it out of there and wouldn’t be coming back for at least a few days. I applaud Hayden that she went back as soon as she did to clean up from what happened. Hayden, Axel, Jaxon, and the rest of her friends will have a fun time trying to figure out who wanted this guy dead. I still can’t believe who actually killed him.
Story
Hayden and the rest of Destiny Falls were invited to an island for a Medieval Festival. The gang was so interested in going that they didn’t know if it was for nefarious reasons or not. The festival sounded like it was a lot of fun, and I hope that they get to do something just as fun like that in the future. But without a meddlesome witch using the festival for her own personal gain, which you will find out once you read the book.
Five Stars
Jousting and Justice by Elizabeth Pantley is a lovely book that had me laughing throughout the entire reading time. Ms. Pantley hooks me into her mysteries with ease. I love reading about Hayden and the rest of the Destiny Falls gang. Did you figure out who the good witch is that keeps on visiting Nemmy whenever she could? I did. Comment below who you think it is and if you guessed correctly, if you have read the book yet. My rating for Jousting and Justice by Elizabeth Pantley is five stars and a recommendation for all the paranormal cozy mystery readers out there.
