My Rating:
My Thoughts:
When I found out that Mr. Ryan McPartlin wrote this movie and is starring in it as Detective Kyle Crawford, I wanted to watch it.
Julie Gonzalo is one of my favorite actresses, and I think she did a perfect job in this movie as Ali Bowden. Ali helps out the police sometimes if Eric needs her. She is a hairdresser and hears things that end up helping the police a lot more than what Ali’s mom Carol wants. She is also a widow and hasn’t moved on from her husband’s death. I can’t say any more about it. Ali is a great character, and I feel so bad for her at certain points in the film where we are supposed to feel those emotions. Julie Gonzalo has done an awesome job playing this character, and I can’t wait to see another one.
Ryan McPartlin is Detective Kyle Crawford, a recent addition to their small town. His first big case happens a day or two after he gets into town as the beauty pageant creator is deceased. He has to rule out a whole lot of people as suspects. The first one is a recent addition to the pageant, who is Ali’s little sister Chelsea Bowden. Kyle tries his hardest to keep everyone happy while doing his job and doing everything by the book. It just gets hard when your prime finder of knowledge doesn’t like you very much. Everything works out, and they do catch the killer.
Okay, so the killer really threw me for a loop as I didn’t think it would be that person. This means that they did an excellent job with their red herrings throughout the story.
Julie Gonzalo and Ryan McPartlin are obviously going to be love interests, and you can kind of see that spark between them start to show up in this movie. Hopefully, we will see this grow into something with other movies. However, the cliffhanger at the end may mean that it will take a while for that to happen.
