It’s “lights, camera, murder,” as crime-solving baker extraordinaire Hannah Swensen (Alison Sweeney) works alongside her detective beau Mike Kingston (Cameron Mathison) to figure out a recipe for murder played out in the middle of her first-ever televised bake-off.

Based on characters from the Hannah Swensen Series by Joanne Fluke.

My Rating:

five-stars

My Thoughts:

I can’t believe that this is the last of the Hannah Swenson movies. It wraps up beautifully though and with no loose ends either. Hannah is the judge of a cooking competition that is set up at the local high school. A judge on said cooking competition, who is also the basketball coach gets killed.

The killer makes it look like it was about the cooking competition, or was it really about the basketball team that he coached. I have to say it took me a while to get this one. The suspects, all seemed like they had a good motive, but they did have an alibi.

My favorite part is that instead of Mike telling Hannah to stay out of the investigation, he’s allowing her to investigate the crime with him. I loved to see them working together. The ending is perfect, which I won’t spoil but you will all see why I love it.

So, if you haven’t seen the Murder She Baked series yet, you should. I adore it.

Thank you for your review. I’ve seen all the movies, but have not read any of the books. I’d like to though, so my question is… Are these movies based off of the books exactly, or just based off of the characters? I ask because it looks like a lot of the books were skipped over in the movie versions based off of the book titles. I would like to read them in order, but don’t want to re-read any books that the movies played out.
