Summary:
Samantha “Sam” Walker, the owner of her family’s picturesque ranch in Bighorn, Montana must decide whether to sell her land to wealthy developers or risk losing it in foreclosure. When New York real estate developer Richard Belmont arrives at the ranch to convince her to sell, he learns some life-changing lessons from Sam about the country lifestyle and the importance of home. Despite the budding romance that develops between them, the pressure on Richard from his colleagues to close the deal grows and threatens to undermine everything he’s come to love since arriving in Bighorn.
My Rating:
My Thoughts:
A Hallmark movie set in Montana? Count me in.
Ryan Paevey portrays Richard Belmont. Richard is a pretty interesting character that changed a whole lot throughout this movie. He starts with being a great CEO and doing whatever his father’s company wanted him to do until he comes to Bighorn, Montana. Once in Bighorn, he starts to find himself. Ryan Paevey does a great job of portraying this character through all the ups and downs his character endures.
Erin Krakow is Sam Walker, our female lead. She is a great character who wants her family ranch to be taken care of as it deserves. Except this is met with a lot of hardships. I’m glad that she reconsidered liking Richard (or JR as she calls him) after what ended up happening. Erin Krakow did a fantastic job with this character, and I keep finding more ways to love her in all these memorable roles.
Here are some of my favorite scenes: Sam giving Richard chores to “pull” his weight on the ranch, Richard trying on clothes to be a proper cowboy, and Richard helping Annie to figure out what future business to deal with horses and people will be. Each of these scenes is perfect and help each of the characters grow.
The one thing the movie got wrong: there are no lightning bugs/fireflies in Montana. So, although that scene was cute, it isn’t very realistic. However, I still recommend this fantastic romance set in Montana, Ok, Canada, but again, watch it. You will enjoy the experience too.
