Jean Kearns never expected Ava Montgomery to walk onto his space station and back into his life. He knows he won't get a second chance with her, because single dads don't get happily-ever-afters. All he can think about is that he’ll never forgive himself if anything happens to Ava—again. He failed her once, but this time he's determined to protect her.

Ava didn’t come to the Beyond for romance. Finding out that Jean is there only makes her mission more difficult. She’s there incognito to troubleshoot operations in the galactic corporation she’s just inherited. She’s confident in her abilities to resolve these issues—providing she doesn’t get distracted by the gorgeous second officer.

When Ava’s cover gets blown and Jean comes face to face with an old enemy there's only one path for them to take. One they'll have to walk together—or lose everything that really matters.

Uncharted Stars by Lea Carter is a cute, sweet romance on a space station.

Will Jean and Ava get it all?

Jean Kearns

Jean Kearns is the second in command of the space station called Beyond. He has been raising a kid he adopted, and Jean loves being a dad. Granted, he would love to share the raising of a child with someone else that he loves. However, that will have to wait until down the road when he isn’t worried about the space station. Jean is a great guy with some issues from his past that he needs to work through, and here’s to hoping that Ava will be able to help him with everything he needs. Maybe potentially add more to their little family. I like how Jean can switch between some of his job personas. When he is with other officers, he is more of their boss, but he puts on more of a fatherly persona while he is with his child.

Ava Montgomery

Ava Montgomery is now in the head seat of her family’s business. She is the boss of Beyond. Ava goes there knowing something isn’t quite right with things on this new space station, and she wants to figure out why. Of course, that means Ava is going there undercover and not alerting anyone that she is going. I like Ava for being brave enough to go to her space station undercover to see how it’s being run and what is happening before showing up. I like this about her because it shows how much her father’s company means to her and that she wants it to succeed with her running it.

Romance

The romance between Ava and Jean was adorable. I loved how Ms. Carter brings subtle hints about their past together while letting the reader know that the couple wants more this time around. As a couple, they are cute, and I hope they have a very long, happy life together.

Four Stars

I am giving Uncharted Stars by Lea Carter four stars. I am also recommending it to any sweet romance readers out there. Ms. Carter did a fantastic job of making me feel like I was on the station with everyone.

About Lea Carter

Lea Carter

I’m not much on talking about myself, but I suppose if you’re here it’s because you’d like to know more than you already do. Here goes…
Most people mispronounce my first name because it’s not the Biblical spelling. I thought I was immune to it after the first few rounds of substitute teachers. Then I got a job working on the phones. I chuckled almost everyday as I was called Leanne, Mia, Lydia, Olivia, etc., etc.
I’ve been writing since I was nine years old, maybe younger but certainly by then. In the recesses of some bag or box back home, there’s a painful attempt at writing a story about full-grown people. As a full-time schoolchild, I naturally wrote the date on it. I’ve no idea of what the story line was, but like most of my early efforts I never finished it.
In fact, except for a few short stories written for a college magazine competition (The Crowder Quill), I never finished anything until the fall of 2005. In three months I wrote the original draft of Silver Princess, which I called Silver Dreams. Then I promptly went on an eighteen-month mission for the LDS Church.

When I got back, I fiddled with the story off and on for the next five years. Finally, with or without a few mistakes, I swallowed my fears, said a prayer, and signed an electronic contract with Amazon. Since then I’ve been bumbling about the internet, trying to sort through contradictory information, dozens of social websites, and so forth.
