Special Agent Alexandra Cassidy has made a career of disobeying orders, challengingbigwigs, and asking uncomfortable questions.

What offends her superiors most is that her intolerable antics have earned her one of the best track records in the FBI.

It’s too bad, some cases are better left unsolved.

When Cassidy is transferred to the backwaters of Arizona she finds herself leading a crew with so many black marks on their records, it’s a miracle any of them remain employed.

Thankfully, their first case pretty much solves itself. But as Cassidy and her team continue throwing bad guys behind bars, a creeping sense of suspicion grows. The cases are easy, a little too easy, and troubling patterns become impossible to ignore.

Then things take a violent turn, and an elusive figure steps forward to help. But in a conspiracy big enough to topple kings, every player has an agenda— and misplaced trust will have devastating consequences.

The Tech by Mark Ravine is witty, fun and the mystery is so fabulous. It’s an awesome read.

Will Mike help Alexandra and her team catch the bad guys before they are all killed?

Alexandra Cassidy

Alexandra is our heroine and, some of the time, our point-of-view. She is also an SSA in the FBI. Alex is good at the job and seems to be transferred around a lot. But since she has no family, she doesn’t mind. She is great at her job, but she really clicks with her newest team. They are closing cases within a couple of days, but Alex feels she is missing something. And who is this tech, Mike? He seems to know way too much about her personal habits.

I really like Alexandra. She is intelligent and yet down to earth. I enjoyed reading the story from her perspective. She has a funny internal voice, even though you can’t tell what she is thinking on the outside. Alex has control, presence, and a strong personality. I totally got her jealously even when I was laughing.

Mike Patterson

The Tech CRMike is also in the FBI, although he is a tech guy, not a field agent. Mike has a supercomputer with A.I. and uses the computer to assist Alex’s team with cases. But Mike helps the agents by telling them things that jog their memories to find the clues faster. It works most of the time, but Alex starts to get wise to Mike and his ways. Mike and Aisha are fairly good at getting the agents to do their bidding.

At first, I didn’t know what to think about Mike or Aisha. Yet, about halfway through, I started to understand what was going on. Then my respect for Mike shot through the roof. He no longer seems like a weird stalker.  I would love to know a tech with his abilities.

The Team and Mystery

Alexandra’s new team may look like many misfits on the outside, but they are all good at their jobs, and each has a specialty. I quite enjoyed their bickering and comradery. The mystery is fabulously written and honestly kept me guessing. The ending was such a surprise.

Five Stars

I loved The Tech by Mark Ravine; it is entertaining and intriguing. I kept second-guessing myself and the choices that I just made regarding who was behind it all. This book was constantly on my mind; I really couldn’t figure out who was in charge of the cabal. If you are looking for a great mystery with a small touch of romance, this is a great book for you. I truly enjoyed it.
