Broken things can’t be fixed…
Or can they?
Officer and single dad Mike Harrison doesn’t believe in second chances. Ever. That is, until he learns that his former best friend—gorgeous green-eyed car mechanic Georgie Bennett—is back in town. Unfortunately, she’s also a suspect in a recent break-in! But it’ll take an old classic car to show Mike and Georgie that almost anything can be restored with a little patience…and a whole lot of love.
The Sheriff’s Second Chance by Tanya Agler is a sweet romance about a cop and a mechanic trying to make things right again.
Will Georgie forgive Mike for what he did in the past and present?
Georgie Bennett
Georgie is one of the main characters and love interest. She is a different type of character than I excepted and I love it. Georgie’s mom, Barbara, is the classic Southern lady who wants the same out of her tomboy daughter. Instead of wearing dresses though Georgie wanted to work on cars. She is a mechanic and apparently a really good one that loves to work on old cars.
What I like about Georgie is that she is a tomboy and she doesn’t care what other people think. Well, she does but she doesn’t let it show or let it hurt her in public. She is a strong character who has a lot of development in this book. The one thing that I dislike about her is that she lets her stubbornness rule her decision making.
Mike Harrison
Mike is the other main character and love interest as well. He is a cop who wants to be a good father to his little eight-year-old daughter. Sadly though Mike was raising her without really being present like his parents were. Sure he is there but he isn’t putting his love in it. Georgie made him realize that and he is better with her, his best friend, to help him out. Georgie also helps him realize that maybe he should be more than just a deputy.
What I like about Mike is that he realizes all of this and wants to become better. For his daughter and for Georgie. It just took him a while to realize that and that is what I like since it wasn’t instantaneous. Mike is a very lovable guy especially when he is about duty and love for the people that he cares about.
Five Stars
The Sheriff’s Second Chance by Tanya Agler is a hilarious sweet romantic book that kept me guessing the entire time. I loved that it was like that since it kept me invested in wanting to know if I am right. Georgie and Mike make a great couple even if it took them a while to figure that out. Which is why I am giving it five stars and recommending it to all the sweet romance readers out there.
Welcome to the family Ms. Agler this is a fantastic first book with Harlequin.
