Frozen meets Mad Max in this epic teen fantasy duology bursting with star-crossed romance, immortal heroines, and elemental magic, perfect for fans of Furyborn.

Generations of twin goddesses have long ruled Aeon. But seventeen years ago, one sister’s betrayal defied an ancient prophecy and split their world in two. The planet ceased to spin, and a Great Abyss now divides two realms: one cloaked in perpetual night, the other scorched by an unrelenting sun.

While one sister rules Aranth—a frozen city surrounded by a storm-wracked sea —her twin inhabits the sand-locked Golden City. Each goddess has raised a daughter, and each keeps her own secrets about her sister’s betrayal.

But when shadowy forces begin to call their daughters, Odessa and Haidee, back to the site of the Breaking, the two young goddesses —along with a powerful healer from Aranth, and a mouthy desert scavenger —set out on separate journeys across treacherous wastelands, desperate to heal their broken world. No matter the sacrifice it demands.

The Never Tilting World by Rin Chupeco is a remarkable book. It combines magic with two girls that are on two different quests.

Who will be the new Goddess of Aeon: either Haidee or Odessa?

Tianlan

Tianlan is one of the people that use magic. Her magic is to heal people. While her job is as a ranger. They are tasked with exploring areas where they don’t know that much about. Well, until something happened and now she is tasked to watch the teen goddess. Her teen goddess is one of two, but not everyone knows about the second. Lan, of course, doesn’t think that her goddess Asteria is wrong about what happened when the world broke in two.

What I like about Tianlan is that despite what Asteria has told everyone in their part of the world, she is very dedicated to protecting Odessa. She ended up doing something that she probably shouldn’t have with Odessa, but she still kept with the whole thing of keeping her safe despite Odessa keeping it hard. The one thing that I didn’t like about Tianlan is a spoiler sadly.

Ardu

Ardu is the second of the people that can use magic, but all of them that have a point of view has magic. His magic is more of the fire type, and he doesn’t like Latona as everyone thinks that she killed Asteria, who was supposed to be the Goddess of Aeon. Ardu ends up helping unwillingly to Haidee a lot, and he does like her even though he doesn’t want to admit it. He is a good person under the hard act that he puts on around most people.

What I like about Ardu is that despite hiding the fact that he’s a nice guy under being mean but that’s just him. I also like that he has been able to stay alive in the desert for this long when not a whole lot of people have.

Odessa

Odessa was raised to believe that she was one of the only two Goddesses left in this world. Along with that, she needs to save the world and make it unbroken. She thinks by doing that she needs to accept these gifts while not knowing what they take from her.

What I like about Odessa is that she knows what she wants and she will make it happen. Another thing that I like about Odessa is that she wants to try to bring the world together and thinks that she knows what she needs to do.

Haidee

Haidee is the second twin Goddess and was raised by Latona, the other adult Goddess that is there. Unlike Odessa, she lives where the sun is always there. Haidee doesn’t know anything about her heritage. I love that she likes to work with machines, as it’s not something that you would think a Goddess would do.

What I like about Haidee besides the fact that she works with machines, is that she wants to do things that no one has done before or in a long time. I like that she has grown a lot throughout her quest.

Five Stars

The Never Tilting World by Rin Chupeco is an exciting and different take on a YA fantasy. Ms. Chupeco did a fantastic job of writing this story, and I can’t wait to read the next book. I am rating it at five stars and recommend it to anyone that reads YA.
