Samantha Murphy’s beloved grandmother plots from beyond the grave to bring the family together for one more hometown Christmas, during which everyone is reminded of the importance of family, love and second chances. When Samantha’s boyfriend, Simon, proposes marriage and she accepts in front of her entire family, Simon is forced to play out an uncomfortable charade when Samantha admits she spoke too soon.

I liked Reunited at Christmas. It is a little sad in the sense that Nana is gone. Samantha’s Nana would have been an extraordinary woman to know.
Nikki Deloach and Mike Failoa have excellent, believable chemistry. I thought the whole cast was well thought out.
There are a few things going on in this story, besides Christmas, dealing with their grief over Nana’s death, but there is also the parents. They haven’t seen each other much since the divorce, and they are a bit awkward, but There seem to be some feelings returning. Then they have this fantastic Christmas task list to complete before Christmas day. Nana so knew how to bring her family together in the end.
I like Annie (Durupt). She has a stable relationship with her husband and seems to be able to move forward in life. Samantha hasn’t let go of the blow from her parent’s divorce, or her las failed engagement. She writes romance novels. It’s a little funny.

The family
- Dad, Bill Murphy. He is retired police officers from their hometown of Cedar Ridge
- Mom, Claire. She is an attorney in Connecticut.
- Samantha, our heroine, is a romance writer asked to write a Christmas Romance, but she hasn’t had the holiday spirit since her parent’s divorce when they started doing the “holiday shuffle.”
- Simon is an up and coming reporter in New York where he and Samantha live. He is a very likable guy. People seem to take to him well.
- Annie is Samantha’s younger sister, and Mark is her husband.
Overall, it is a beautiful Christmas movie. I enjoyed it.
