Interview with Atticus Papadopoulos
How did you and your author meet?
I was investigating the grounds of the inn where the book club meets. I was using a device that alerts me to points of extraterrestrial energy. You. see, I am a doctor of astrobiology, the academic field that studies the origins of life on our Earth and the existence of life elsewhere in our universe. The Snapdragon Inn happens to be at a key crossover point for a confluence of energy.
Why did this writer decide to feature you in a book?
I must say, this book club has a number of … shall we say, free-spirited and impulsive members. They tend to dive into solving mysteries with no concern for facts or process. I suspect that the author included me as a voice of reason.
Do you have any friends or family helping you out?
This book club has become like family over the course of our adventures. The group functions as a haphazard team of quirky personalities, yet we somehow manage to solve every mystery sent our way.
Do you have a regular job and investigate on the side or are you a full time detective?
I am a researcher, and therefore the book club’s journeys suit my work perfectly. Since we travel into other worlds that feature unique beings, every trip provides me with a fascinating opportunity to explore paranormal beings of all kinds.
What is the funniest thing that happens to you or another character in this story?
I likely shouldn’t share this, as the other club members love to harass me about it, but I admit it was both exciting and somewhat funny in retrospect. We traveled back into the old West West, and I was partaking in a card game in a saloon, for the historical experience, you see. I was threatened at gun point! All was well in the end, but it was a heart-racing moment that comes off as quite entertaining in retrospect.
Have you solved other cases, or is this your first one?
I joined this book club in their third adventure, Cowboys and Chaos, and we’ve just completed our tenth magical mystery book club journey. We’re about to enter our eleventh book, and the author tells me we’ll be meeting a new type of paranormal being, and I’m looking forward to it.
Do you have a gift or special talent?
I would say my talent is sharing background information and interesting tidbits that relate to every adventure we experience.
Who is the most important individual in your life?
Oh, well… I, ummm. Really shouldn’t say just yet. Next question, please?
What is your ideal vacation?
Hah! Every book we enter turns out to be both an ideal vacation and an intriguing mystery.
If you could change anything about your life what would it be?
I can only think of one thing, but it’s far too soon for me to share that bit of information with you. However, if you read the Magical Mystery Book Club series you’ll follow along on my personal story as well as the stories of my fellow members as we travel into many interesting books.
