A highly inaccurate psychic. A grumpy writer. And a corpse. Welcome to Starry Falls. Running from the mob can be murder.

Confession. I’m no psychic. But I can sort of see the future—albeit not accurately. And you better believe, I’ve never let that little detail stop me from prognosticating my way into a pickle. So when I ticked off the mob, the feds, and my wily ex, I decided to take my Uncle Vinny’s advice and start over with a new name and new hair color while relying on my old shtick—getting my psychic wires crossed and putting myself in danger.

A laugh out loud cozy mystery by New York Times Bestseller Addison Moore and her partner in cozy crime, USA TODAY Bestseller Bellamy Bloom.

Murder at Mortimer Manor by Addison Moore and Bellamy Bloom nicely sets up this series of Stella Santini running from the mob and taking on a new identity by the name of Bowie Binx.

Will Bowie keep her old life under wraps and stay in Starry Falls?

Stella Santini/Bowie Binx

Stella Santini, aka Bowie Binx, is literally on the run from the mobsters and feds thanks to her ex-boyfriend. Bowie Binx is trying her hardest not to get caught by the feds and didn’t mean to stop at Starry Falls instead of driving to Canada like her uncle Vinnie wanted her to do. Now, Bowie may have found a place where she wants to settle down and stay as Bowie as long as she doesn’t get caught up in any more crimes. I have to say that I like Bowie, and I love how she interprets her visions to realize that once they come forth, they aren’t what she thought they were.

The Mystery

Bowie Binx, along with her new employer Opal, stumble across a dead body and the murder weapon. Now, Bowie has to clear her name and her employers’ so that she can keep living here under the radar. I have to say a part of me guessed who it was, but then another part of me was like, just no, it couldn’t be that person. They were obviously a red herring along with this other one. Except it made sense about the person who did it. Once everything came out.

Five Stars

Murder at Mortimer Manor by Addison Moore and Bellamy Bloom is the start of a nice series that follows an ex-mob girlfriend to her hopeful freedom as Bowie Binx. I have to say that I loved everything about this book, including the love interest in Shep. Now, that will be an interesting dynamic. I am giving five stars to Murder at Mortimer Manor by Addison Moore and Bellamy Bloom. Along with a recommendation to all who love a good cozy.

Don’t forget to check out the recipe at the back of the book called Italian Gravy.
