Welcome to Nocturne Falls – the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.
Jayne Frost is a lot of things. Winter elf, Jack Frost’s daughter, Santa Claus’s niece, heir to the Winter Throne and now…private investigator. Sort of.
When she buys a sealed box at an estate sale and cat-related circumstances cause that box to be opened, life in Nocturne Falls starts to go haywire. Jayne has no choice but to figure out what she unleashed and how to recapture it.
But Jayne suspects the woman behind the box is hiding something. Something that could cause a town resident serious trouble. Or worse, to lose their life.
With the help of her two favorite guys, a sexy vampire and a hot summer elf, and a few new friends, Jayne tackles what feels like an impossible mission. And winds up almost iced herself.
Mysterious pranks and a talking Spider…loved it!
Miss Frost Ices the Imp by Kristen Painter is the second book in the Jayne Frost Series, which is set in Nocturne Falls. You know the town where they celebrate Halloween 365 days a year.
I really Jayne. She is smart, cute and she finds trouble fairly easily. She is dating two gentlemen, Grayson, a vampire with a sketchy side and Cooper, a summer elf that she dated in college. I like that Jayne is true to herself in this situation. It will all work out itself out.
I love the characters, Ms. Painter does a delightful job creating these wonderful characters and the inspiring lives. The mystery part of the book was good. I could follow the clues and everything made sense.
The narrator Hollis McCarthy did a fabulous job. She uses different voices for the characters which I thought were so great. She seems to match up very well with the description of the characters in the book. I really loved Spider’s little voice.
My rating is 5 stars. I highly recommend this series and the Nocturne Falls series. I also recommend the Audible book, the narrator was top notch. Between the author’s story and narrator’s voices, this is so outstanding.
