Plot Summary:
In life and on her popular reality show, professional matchmaker Angie Dove excels at pairing single people with their ideal mates. Shortly after proposing to his perfect match on Angie’s show, her friend Aaron is accused of murdering his fiancée. A disbelieving Angie launches her own investigation, cooking up clever gambits enabling her to gather clues and interview witnesses and suspects. Her efforts don’t endear her to Kyle Cooper, the by-the-book detective on the case. But he learns to appreciate the talents of the amateur sleuth, who is also the daughter of his onetime mentor, retired detective Nick Colomba.
My Rating:
My Thoughts:
This film is the first one in a new series and wow, what a fantastic movie.
Danica McKellar portrays Angie Dove. Angie is the adopted daughter of a retired police detective that is a television matchmaker. You usually don’t see the main female character doing something like that. She is also great at not only bringing the unlikely people together but with solving crimes. Danica is so believable in this role.
Victor Webster plays Kyle Cooper, the police detective, who was trained by Angie’s dad. I remember when I saw him for the first time. He was on Charmed as Coop a cupid. It makes me laugh that his last name here is Cooper and that his character’s love interest deals with matchmaking. It’s pretty funny. Victor does a great job with this character, and I like how he was always one step ahead somewhat of Angie until he wasn’t.
Bruce Boxleitner is Nick Colomba, Angie’s dad, and Kyle’s mentor. Nick is still friends with Kyle, so this lets Nick make sure his daughter is safe. Bruce was also in the Gourmet Detective movies as his dad. He plays these roles well.
The chemistry between Danica and Victor is excellent. I can’t wait to see this series take off. So, make sure that you check it out.
