In “Love Takes Flight,” Dr. Lizzie Beauman (DeLoach) is a single mother and hospital administrator determined to attract enough world-class doctors and treatment options to make her hospital successful enough to build a wing for patients’ families to be able to stay together while healing. Lizzie’s five-year old daughter, Quinn, suffers from an insulin disorder and Lizzie knows the demands on working families who have a sick loved one to care for. Lizzie has spent years doing her best construction building walls around her own expectations: no fun and no spontaneity here as the best-lived lives are created through discipline and order. But all that changes when new EMS pilot Charley Allen (Hephner) comes into Lizzie and Quinn’s lives. Charley challenges the constrictions Lizzie places on herself, especially, her fear of flying. And Charley learns something from Lizzie about the patience it takes to nurture relationships, especially between Charley and his dad whose relationship has been strained since his mom passed away. The day comes when Charley and Lizzie must come together as a team, each performing at the highest skill level to save a transplant patient. In the process, Lizzie and Charley may be able to heal themselves and their loved ones.
My Rating:
My Thoughts:
Nikki DeLoach and Jeff Hephner did a wonderful job in this movie. I was so convinced they were falling for each other. Their chemistry is fantastic.
Lizzie’s little daughter Quinn, played by Skylar Olivia Flanagan, did an excellent job and whenever she was on the screen, I was drawn to her. Skylar and Nikki were awesome as mom and daughter duo. Speaking of which Lizzie’s whole family did an awesome job together and I believed that they were a family. Nikki and Barbara Niven make a great mother/daughter team as well.
Jeff’s character’s relationship with his dad, played by Tom Thon, was excellent as well. I believed that they were both mourning for the loss of their wife/mom.
Let’s just say I adore this whole entire movie and I felt so much watching every moment of what was happening in the film. I even believed that Nikki and Barbara were actually mom and daughter since there is enough of an age gap between the actresses and they seem to share a couple of looks. Jeff and Tom as well.

A little history about Hallmark’s Hall of Fame taken from the Hallmark Website.
For more than 60 years, the Hallmark Hall of Fame presents original films that entertain, enlighten and inspire.
The first Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation (December 24, 1951) was the world premiere of Gian Carlo Menotti’s opera, “Amahl and the Night Visitors.” The first original opera ever commissioned for television, “Amahl” enjoyed several encore presentations over the years. It made further television network history in 1953 when it became the first sponsored program ever presented in color.
Many Hallmark Hall of Fame presentations since have been groundbreaking. “Hamlet” (1953) was the first play by William Shakespeare ever presented on television. More people watched that broadcast than had seen the classic play on stage during the 350 years since it was written. The series also earns the acclaim of consumers and critics for its award-winning commercials. In an age of increasing clutter, Hallmark Hall of Fame broadcasts are distinguished by fewer commercial minutes and fewer commercial breaks than other network programming.
Hallmark Cards Chairman Donald J. Hall says the Hallmark Hall of Fame remains an integral and vibrant part of the company’s culture. “We are in the business of helping people communicate,” says Hall, “a key part of that mandate has been the Hallmark Hall of Fame.”
“Thanks to the enormous contributions of hundreds of superbly talented writers, actors, directors, and other creative artists, we’ve been able to develop and present material that both informs and entertains. We’ve stayed the course for 60 years, and I think our artistic record speaks for itself. I’m proud of the Hallmark Hall of Fame’s history and feel confident about its future.”
