Halloween is still a week away, but disturbing things are already starting to occur in Sabrina Daley's picturesque hometown of Treasure Cove. First, a local restaurant burns down under strange circumstances. Next, one of Sabrina's regulars at Daley Buzz Coffee Company is found murdered. Can Sabrina solve both cases in time to treat herself to some candy, or will her Halloween night end with a deadly trick?
Can Sabrina figure out who killed Allison?
Halloween Candy with a Side of Murder by Meredith Potts is a lovely, short, and is easy to follow along. I listened to the Audible version of it, and I loved it. Halloween Candy with a Side of Murder is in a coastal town named Treasure Cove in the fall. A week from Halloween which is a perfect beginning book for the spooky season.
The Main Character:
The main character in Halloween Candy with a Side of Murder is Sabrina Daley. She grew up in Treasure Cove than left and came back again to work at her family’s coffee shop. The story is from her point of view. It’s also a pretty short story, and I loved how you didn’t have to read the other books to get what the characters were talking about or their relationships.
What I liked about Sabrina
- Sabrina is a pretty interesting character. She works at her family’s coffee place, yet she was able to investigate one of her customers and friend’s death.
- She has a little corgi named Snickerdoodle which seems like a pretty awesome dog.
- Sabrina is very stubborn, and she loves candy.
- She is also a big fan of the little Ma and Pa shops around the town. She is trying to save them all, and it’s pretty awesome.
The Love Interest:
Sabrina’s boyfriend David is a detective. They seem like a cute couple.
The Villain:
I am not going to spoil this for anyone, but I will tell you that I was wrong about the identity of the murder. It was pretty entertaining to see who did it.
The Narrator
Ms. Beacom did a great job on narrating. The voices that she used were pretty cool. However, Ms. Beacon did confuse Sabrina’s mom’s voice with David’s voice, but it was still fantastic. She made the story very pleasant to listen too.
Five Stars
Halloween Candy with a Side of Murder by Meredith Potts was magnificent. I thought I knew who did it but I was surprised to see that I was wrong. It is a great book, and I loved it. I am giving this book a five-star rating, and I am recommending it to anyone that likes cozy mysteries.
Anyways until the next time enjoy this review brought to you by
