My Rating:

four-stars

My Thoughts:

Dylan O’Neal is Henry, who is our sleuth and dating the cop. Henry is a chef, food blogger, and now a silent partner with his dad in a restaurant. I am glad that he is getting back to food, but I also think that he is getting away from being a food blogger. Then again, there was no mention of his food blog. Henry does side work of helping people with some things instead of working on his blog. If not for that, Henry wouldn’t have found the dead body as he did.

Brooke Burns is Maggie, who is our police detective and dating Henry. Maggie has a daughter that is now in college and is doing well at her job. She is suffering from empty nest syndrome with her daughter gone. There is no mention of her Maggie’s mom, which kind of sucks since she was so much a part of the series before Abigail went off to college.

I liked the movie a bit, but I think with two years of not doing the series that they missed it. Abigail is going off to college and not seeing her very much. The grandmother just completely disappearing after Abigail goes off to college is a bit saddening. I miss the two of them being in the movie and the way Maggie was with Henry before they got together.

The story was interesting, and I liked how they were able to solve it. I didn’t really get who did it, but I never thought it was the person that did it. The acting was good and I loved the chemistry between Dylan and Brooke. I can’t wait to see more from these two with this series.

One response to “Gourmet Detective: Roux the Day

  1. Hallmark should make more of both of these series. The newest mystery showings fall. Flat… no chemistry…just actors acting without connection. Once again greed and the bottom line rules. Such a shame that as a viewer we are held hostage by a new CEO.
