My Thoughts:
I had such high hopes for this movie going in, and I was a bit disappointed in it. From Friend to Fiancé made me think we were going to focus on Jess and Ted, but we really didn’t.
Characters
Jess is a nurse at a nursing home when she isn’t planning weddings for the people that she cares about. She is a great character that I enjoyed since she liked doing things that a tomboy would do but still can get in touch with her feminine side. That is what intrigued me about her, and I think that she has an awesome personality. Jess is so nice, and it really shows when she agrees to be the best woman in her best friend, Ted’s, wedding to her high school bully. Then to prove the point more, she also planning the wedding. I think Jocelyn Hudon did a good job portraying this character as I really believed what was happening for Jess.
Ted is this fabulous character who is sweet and used to be teased in school and called “Big Ted.” He now owns a fitness gym and is truly good-looking. Ted is Jess’s best friend since they were kids and grew up together. He and Jess have this fantastic connection, but they both hide their feelings from each other. I think Ryan Paevey did a good job portraying his character even if we really didn’t see much of him in the film.
I enjoyed the portrayal of Kim and her mature responses to what was going on in the storyline. I also like the way that Kim was honestly trying to be a better person, then she was in high school. People really can change. Kelly Kruger did an excellent job on portraying this character and trying to get passed her old ways to make new friendships to the ones that she didn’t have one with before.
Dislikes
Hallmark had a good idea if only they cut short the time it took to get to Ted and Kim’s wedding and had focused on what happened after Jess and Ted became boyfriend and girlfriend to being married. Instead of cramming that into the last few minutes.
The one quote that I like from the movie was
Kimberly Kentwood the Queen of Mean.
Maybe Lacey Chabert should have been in this movie?
