While hosting the annual gathering of the Association for the Study of American Archaeology at Kenzer College, Emma Fielding is thrust into the midst of a murder mystery when the resident of her organization is poisoned on the eve of announcing her successor. With many of the leading archaeologists present having expressed their entitlement to the presidency prior to the murder, Emma and FBI pal Jim Conner have plenty of likely suspects from which to choose.
Based on the book: More Bitter Than Death (Emma Fielding Mysteries, No. 5) by Dana Cameron
My Rating:
My Thoughts:
The third movie of this series is great. I should probably read the Emma Fielding Series at some point. The first two Emma Fielding movies were superb, and I can’t wait for another one.
Just like with the first two this one grabbed mine and my family’s attention as we tried to solve it with the cast. Granted it was a bit tough, but we figured it out.
There was a lot of red herrings throughout it and quite a few mysteries. The first one being the truck fire, then the missing skull, and lastly the murdered professor that’s the president of the ASAA.
The few things that were annoying was Sheriff Dunbar thinking that anything that happened was more than a coincidence. Seriously, have you ever heard that in any mysteries? Another thing that didn’t make sense was the fashion choices for the cast. Would an archeologist professor wear wedges to run around in the underground tunnels? The last thing that bugged me was the way that Emma captured the bad guy at the end. I guess they didn’t make furniture that well back then either.
I did like the little jealousy going on. Oh, and the guys all getting together to discuss the women, that was good. I think the romance between grad students is sweet.
I did like the movie and how we have two couples throughout the whole thing that are trying to get together. So, yes, watch it, it’s a great mystery, especially if you have seen the first two.
