She thought he was just another pretty face at her Pilates studio. Turns out, he's the detective investigating her... Falling for him was never part of the script.

When London-based entertainment journalist Sol Novo is suddenly laid off, she never imagined her quest for a new beginning would land her as the prime suspect in a high-profile theft. A valuable screenplay has gone missing from her trendy Pilates studio, and all eyes are on Sol.

Enter Luke Contadino, a devastatingly handsome detective with a distracting smile and an undeniable attraction to Sol. Despite their chemistry, Luke knows he shouldn't get involved with a potential suspect. And Sol, still reeling from a recent divorce, has sworn off relationships.

But as Sol and Luke embark on a whirlwind investigation that takes them from London to Barcelona and then Los Angeles, professional boundaries blur, and their palpable attraction ignites.

Can Sol clear her name and resist the temptation of a romance that's more thrilling than any Hollywood script?

Cluelessly Unscripted by Patricia Puentes is a fantastic blend of mystery and romance.

Will Luke clear Sol’s name and find love?

Sol Novo

Our heroine is Sol Novo, an entertainment journalist, who recently moved to London after getting divorced. Sol has some baggage, as everyone does. However, I felt like she is smart and knows what she needs in her life. Although, that is going to change since her parents have spent the trust fund that she was hoping to fall back on after losing her job. Through all of the things that happened in this installment, I felt like Sol is getting emotionally stronger. She is capable of taking care of herself, but finding someone to truly share her life with will be good for her.

Luke Contadino

Our hero and main investigator is Luke. At the beginning, he is working for a private investigating firm that is looking into the theft of a script from a Pilates studio where Sol attends classes. At first, he is undercover and just following her around, but then he accidentally bumps into her in her hometown, and they get to know each other. I like Luke, especially the guilt he felt for lying to Sol at the beginning. I also like that he knows himself. He also knows what is right, and he strives to achieve that with each case. I like him and Sol together.

Cluelessly Unscripted CRThe Mystery

A script is stolen from one of the patrons at the Pilates studio where Sol attends classes. Luke’s firm is hired to find who stole the script, yet the budget keeps getting smaller on that case, and it has been moved to other cases. The part that is crazy is that the production company really doesn’t want the script found. They really want movie ratings. So, same old thing.

Four Stars

My rating for Cluelessly Unscripted by Patricia Puentes is four stars. I like the characters and the mystery. My favorite part is learning about the different areas of London and Spain through the characters. If you like romance and mystery, then I recommend this story to you.

About Patricia Puentes

Patricia Puentes

Patricia Puentes is a Barcelona native, expat, and recovering entertainment journalist who has been calling California home for more than 15 years. She can tell many funny (or just plain surreal) stories about the frequent times she has interviewed celebrities. But she mostly gets wowed by writers—and doggies.

She writes romance mysteries with a Hollywood setting and where the leads actually hook up early. She has a soft spot for independent heroines who can be a tad clueless, and for sweet lead detectives.

She lives in Oakland, California, with her romantic partner and their rambunctious Border Collie, Boira (aka Peluchín diabólico).
